This revision of the stan-dard makes some significant changes to the 2007 edition.The major revisions and the rationale for them are summa-rized in the following pa

22、ragraphs.DefinitionsThe previous terms sensible coefficient of performance(SCOP) and adjusted sensible coefficient of performance(ASCOP) have been replaced with the new terms net sensiblecoefficient of performance (NSenCOP) and integrated sensi-ble coefficient of performance (iNSenCOP) to remove the

23、confusion caused by the use of the prior terms being used inother ASHRAE documents with different definitions. Somecommon industry terms used within the standard have beenadded as well.Rating Requirements1. The standard has been modified to cover four differentproduct application classifications. Th

24、is reflects theindustry need to modify equipment to accept higherand higher return temperatures, thus increasing effi-ciency.2. The chilled-water conditions have been adjusted on thechilled-water air handlers to emphasize the highersystem efficiency when higher temperatures are used,even though the

25、specific units involved will appear to belower in capacity and efficiency.3. The paragraphs have been reorganized to minimize theconfusion between capacity ratings and efficiencyratings.4. A“normalized”or“weighted”efficiencyratinghasbeencreatedtoprovideasingleefficiencynumber,thussimpli-fying the co

26、mparison of similar units. The raw numberswere retained, however, so engineers can continue tocalculatetheunitsefficiencyatanygeographiclocation.5. The test points on water-cooled (evaporative) directexpansion (DX) units have been adjusted to correspondto AHRI 340/360 as well as a typical cooling to

27、werapproach.6. TheTestDvalueshavebeenadjustedtocorrespondtothevalues required in ANSI/ASHRAE/IES Standard 90.1 for100% free cooling.7. Normalizing values were provided for fluid coolers, fluidcooler pumps, and chilled-water-loop pumps so all tech-nologies could be more easily compared.1. PURPOSEThe

28、purpose of the standard is to establish a uniform setof requirements for rating computer and data processing roomunitary air conditioners (CDPR).2. SCOPEThis standard applies to classes of unitary equipment thatare used to air condition a computer room and data processingequipment. This standard doe

29、s not apply to the rating of indi-vidual assemblies, such as condensing units or direct expan-sion fan-coil units, for separate use.3. DEFINITIONScomputer and data processing room unitary air conditioner(CDPR): a computer and data processing room unitary airconditioner consisting of one or more fact

30、ory-made assem-blies, which include a DX evaporator or chilled-water coolingcoil, an air-moving device, and air-filtering devices. The airconditionermayincludeacompressor,condenser,humidifier,or reheating function. Where DX equipment is provided inmore than one assembly and the separate assemblies a

31、re to beused together, the requirements of rating outlined in this stan-dard are based upon the use of matched assemblies. The func-tions of a CDPR, either alone or in combination with a coolingand heating plant, are to provide air filtration, circulation,cooling, reheating, and humidity puter room

32、air conditioner (CRAC): generally refers tocomputer-room cooling units that utilize dedicated compres-sors and refrigerant cooling coils rather than chilled-puter room air handler (CRAH): generally refers tocomputer-room cooling units that utilize chilled-water coilsfor cooling rather than dedicated

33、 compressors.cooling system energy coefficient of performance (COP): aratio calculated by dividing the net total cooling capacity inwatts by the total power input in watts (excluding reheatersand humidifiers) at any given set of rating conditions. The nettotal cooling capacity is the total gross cap

34、acity minus theenergy dissipated into the cooled space by the blower sensible coefficient of performance (NSenCOP): a ratiocalculated by dividing the net sensible cooling capacity inwatts by the total power input in watts (excluding reheatersand humidifiers) at any given set of rating conditions. T

35、he netsensible cooling capacity is the gross sensible capacity minusthe energy dissipated into the cooled space by the fan system(further explained in Section 5.1).integrated sensible coefficient of performance (iNSen-COP): an NSenCOP value that provides a consistent evalua-tion of the energy effici

36、ency of a unit operated in differentambient temperatures. It is calculated by the method definedin Section 5.2.fluid economizer: a system configuration potentially avail-ablewhenanexternalfluidcoolerisutilizedforheatrejection.It utilizes a separate cooling coil within the unit for cooling 2012 Ameri

38、 cooled fluid returning from the external fluid cooler toprovide cooling much like a chilled-water unit (i.e., withoutthe use of compressors). This process is sometimes referred toas free cooling.standard rating: a rating based on tests performed at standardrating conditions (see Section 5.1).applic

39、ation rating: a rating based on tests performed at appli-cation rating conditions (i.e., conditions other than standardratingconditions).Applicationratingsdonotrequireretestingbutcanbeextrapolatedfromstandardratingtests.Applicationratings are not required but may be published at the manufac-turers o

40、ption (see Section 5.8).rating conditions: any set of operating conditions underwhich a single level of performance results occurs, and whichcauses only that level of performance to occur.standardratingconditions:ratingconditionsusedasthebasisof comparison of performance characteristics.4. CLASSIFIC

41、ATION4.1 Normally, CDPR units within the scope of this standardcan be classified as shown below. There are five basic types ofunitary air conditioners:a. Single-Package Unit. A complete stand-alone unit.b. Condensing Unit with Separate Coil and Fan. Theremote part of this unit contains the compresso

42、r andcondenser while the indoor part of the unit is an evapo-rator and blower.c. Unit with Remote Condenser. The remote part of theunit is an air-cooled condenser only while the indoorpart of the unit contains the compressor(s), evaporatorcoils, and fan.d. Unit with Remote Air-Cooled Fluid Cooler or

43、 CoolingTower. The indoor part of the unit contains the compres-sor(s), evaporator coil, fan, and condenser. The heatrejection is by means of a remote device (a coolingtower or air-cooled fluid cooler) that uses water or gly-col to transfer the heat.e. Chilled-Water Unit. The indoor part of the unit

44、 is an airhandler with a water-cooled coil that is connected to thebuilding chilled-water system.Note: Any of the above types may utilize a second, ordual, cooling coil that provides cooling by means of a free-coolingliquideconomizeroraseparatebuildingchilled-watersystem.Anyoftheabovetypesmaycontain

45、aninternalhumid-ifier and/or reheat capabilities.5. RATING REQUIREMENTSSection 5 describes all of the testing and rating require-mentsforthisstandard.Asummarylistingofthetestsrequiredis provided in Normative Annex A.5.1 Cooling System Standard Capacity Ratings. Ratedcooling is defined as 100% of the

46、 units max capacity and issometimes referred to as standard rating. Standard ratingcapacity shall be established at the standard rating conditionsspecified in rated cooling Test A of Table 1 for each applica-tion class that applies for this equipment. Standard coolingcapacity shall be stated as sens

47、ible cooling capacity and shallbe net values, reflecting the effects of circulating fan heat.5.1.1 Value of Standard Capacity Ratings. These rat-ings shall be expressed in terms of kilowatts with three signif-icant digits (e.g., 10.2 kW and 105 kW).5.1.2 Standard Rating Conditions. The conditions of

48、test for standard ratings shall include the following.5.1.2.1 Standard Cooling System Rating Tempera-tures. All indoor and outdoor conditions for testing aredefined in Table 1. Also defined in Table 1 are the variousfluid temperatures that shall be used for heat rejection pur-poses on non-air-cooled

49、 systems. A unit shall be rated at all ofthe application classes that apply.5.1.2.2 Voltage and Frequency. Nameplate voltagesfor 60 Hz shall be one or more of the following utilizationvoltages: 115, 200, 208, 230, 265, 460, and/or 575. Standardrating tests shall be performed at the unit nameplate ratedvoltages and frequency. For air conditioners with dual voltageratings, standard rating tests shall be performed at both volt-ages or at the lower of the two voltages if only a single stan-dard rating is to be published.
