20、In this addendum, the three required conditions for mini-mizing mold growth are modified by retaining only the mostsignificant condition while eliminating the other two. Thischange has been made because 1) the condition being retained(item a) is sufficient for determining the onset of mold growth,2)

21、 one of the conditions being deleted (item b) was erroneous,and 3) the other condition being removed (item c) is not ger-mane to determining mold growth. In addition, this changewill make the standard easier to use. Note: In this addendum, changes to the current standardare indicated in the text by

22、underlining (for additions) andstrikethrough (for deletions) unless the instructions specifi-cally mention some other means of indicating the changes.Revise Section 6.1 as shown.6.1 Conditions Necessary to Minimize Mold Growth. Inorder to minimize problems associated with mold growth onthe surfaces

23、of components of building envelope assemblies,all of the following conditions shall be met:the following con-dition shall be met: a 30-day running average surface RH 80% when the 30-day running average surface temperature isbetween 5C (41F) and 40C (104F).B-22a. 30-day running average surface RH 80%

25、 between 5C(41F) and 40C (104F)Materials that are naturally resistant to mold or have beenchemically treated to resist mold growth may be able to resisthigher surface relative humidities and/or to resist for longerperiods as specified by the manufacturer. The criteria used inthe evaluation shall be

27、written permission.POLICY STATEMENT DEFINING ASHRAES CONCERNFOR THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF ITS ACTIVITIESASHRAE is concerned with the impact of its members activities on both the indoor and outdoor environment. ASHRAEsmembers will strive to minimize any possible deleterious effect on the indoor and

28、 outdoor environment of the systems andcomponents in their responsibility while maximizing the beneficial effects these systems provide, consistent with acceptedstandards and the practical state of the art.ASHRAEs short-range goal is to ensure that the systems and components within its scope do not

29、impact the indoor andoutdoor environment to a greater extent than specified by the standards and guidelines as established by itself and otherresponsible bodies.As an ongoing goal, ASHRAE will, through its Standards Committee and extensive technical committee structure,continue to generate up-to-dat

30、e standards and guidelines where appropriate and adopt, recommend, and promote those newand revised standards developed by other responsible organizations.Through its Handbook, appropriate chapters will contain up-to-date standards and design considerations as the material issystematically revised.A

31、SHRAE will take the lead with respect to dissemination of environmental information of its primary interest and will seekout and disseminate information from other responsible organizations that is pertinent, as guides to updating standards andguidelines.The effects of the design and selection of eq

32、uipment and systems will be considered within the scope of the systemsintended use and expected misuse. The disposal of hazardous materials, if any, will also be considered.ASHRAEs primary concern for environmental impact will be at the site where equipment within ASHRAEs scopeoperates. However, energy source selection and the possible environmental impact due to the energy source and energytransportation will be considered where possible. Recommendations concerning energy source selection should be made byits members.2/2011
