These fittingsare intended for use with seamless copper tube conforming to ASTM Standard Specifications,B 88 (Water and General Plumbing Systems), B 280 (Air Conditioning and RefrigerationService), and B 819 (Medical Gas Systems). Following approval by the Standa

35、TPRESSURE FITTINGS1 SCOPE1.1 GeneralThis Standard establishes requirements for wroughtcopper and wrought copper alloy braze-joint seamlessfittings designed for use with seamless copper tubeconforming to ASTM Standard Specification, B 88(Water and General Plumbing Systems), B 280 (AirConditioning and

36、 Refrigeration Service), and B 819(Medical Gas Systems).This Standard covers joints assembled with brazingmaterials conforming to ANSI/AWS A5.8.This Standard is allied to ASME standards B16.18and B16.22. It provides requirements for fitting-endssuitable for brazing. This Standard covers:(a) pressure

37、-temperature ratings;(b) abbreviations for end connections;(c) size and method of designating openings of fit-tings;(d) marking;(e) material;(f) dimensions and tolerances; and(g) testing.1.2 ConventionFor the purpose of determining conformance withthis Standard, the convention for fixing significant

38、 digitswhere limits, maximum or minimum values, are speci-fied shall be “rounding off” as defined in ASTM E29. This requires that an observed or calculated valueshall be rounded off to the nearest unit in the lastright-hand digit used for expressing the limit.1.3 Units of MeasureThe values stated in

39、 either SI (metric) or US Custom-ary (in.-lb) units of measure shall be regarded separatelyas standard. Within the main text, SI units are given.For convenience, the customary units are shown inMandatory Appendix I. The values stated in each systemare not exact equivalents; therefore, each system sh

42、ory Appendix B.2 PRESSURE-TEMPERATURE RATINGS2.1 Rating of SystemThe internal working pressure-temperature rating fora braze-joint system is dependent upon, not only fittingand tube strength, but also selection of valves andappurtenances.Pressure-temperature ratings for fittings and brazejoints to t

43、he dimensions of Table 3 (Table I3), madewith typical commercial brazing materials, shall beconsidered equal to the values given in Table 1 (Ta-ble I1).The internal working-pressure rating of the systemshall be the lowest of the values shown in Table 1 (TableI1) and those of the tube, valves, or app
