7、TRIC 12-SPLINE FLANGE SCREWS1 GENERAL DATA1.1 Scope(a) This Standard covers the complete general anddimensional data for metric 12-spline flange screwsrecognized as American National Standard.(b) The inclusion of dimensional data in this Standardis not intended to imply that all of the sizes in conj

8、unc-tion with the various options described herein arestock items. Consumers should consult with suppliersconcerning lists of stock production 12-spline flangescrews.(c) The wrenching configuration is defined in SAEAS1325.2 COMPARISON WITH ISO STANDARDS(a) At this time no ISO standard for spline dri

9、vescrews exists, except those for aerospace fastenersincluded in ISO 9254 and ISO 9255. Further, no workwithin ISO is expected for some time. These splinesare not interchangeable with the aerospace ISO splinedesigns.(b) Letter symbols designating dimensional charac-teristics are in accord with those

Top of head shall be chamferedor rounded, and the minimum diameter of chamfercircle or start of rounding s

19、hall be the minimum O.D.of spline, Asmin., minus 2 times the maximum chamferheight, K1. For indented heads, the indent shall havea maximum diameter equal to 0.75 times the minimumroot of spline, Bsmin., and a depth not to exceed themaximum chamfer height, K1.7 HEAD HEIGHTThe head height, K, is the d

20、istance, as measuredparallel to the axis of the screw, from the top of thehead, excluding raised markings, to the plane of thebearing circle diameter.8 SPLINE HEIGHTThe spline height, Ks, is the distance from the topof the head to the end of the full form spline; i.e.,the intersection of the top of

21、the extrusion angle withthe spline root.9 POSITION OF HEADAt maximum material condition, the axis of theoutside diameter of the spline, As, shall be within apositional tolerance zone of the diameter specified inTable 2 with respect to the axis of the shank over adistance under the head equal to the

22、nominal screwdiameter, D. The datum shall be as close to the headas practicable but within 0.5D from the head, and shallbe either wholly plain body or wholly the threadpitch diameter, not including the thread runout or theunderhead fillet.210 FLANGEThe top surface of the flange shall be conical orsl

23、ightly rounded and the periphery shall be round withinthe specified maximum flange diameter and a toleranceof minus 5 percent. The contour of edge at flangeperiphery shall be optional, provided the minimumflange thickness is maintained at the minimum bearingcircle diameter.11 BEARING SURFACEThe bear

24、ing surface shall be conical 0.750.50 degconcave from the plane formed by the bearing circlediameter. The plane formed by the bearing circle shallbe perpendicular to the axis of the shank, over a lengthunder the head equal to the nominal screw diameterD, within the circular runout specified in Table

25、 2. Themeasurement of bearing face runout shall be made atthe actual bearing circle; i.e., at the line of highestpoints on any radial line e.g., by use of a straight edgeanvil. The datum shall be as close to the head aspracticable but within 0.5D from the head, and shallbe either wholly plain body o

26、r wholly the threadpitch diameter, not including the thread runout or theunderhead fillet.12 FILLETThe fillet configurations at the junction of the headand shank shall be either Style A or Style B (Table3), at the option of the manufacturer, unless the filletstyle is specified by the purchaser.NOTE:

27、 Analytical research conducted in the design of the filletconcluded that the maximum stress concentration factors occurringwith Styles A and B configurations were essentially the same.The fillet shall be a smooth and continuous curvefairing smoothly into the underhead bearing surfaceand the shank wi

28、thin the limits specified in Table 3.13 BODY DIAMETERThe diameter of the body on screws which are notthreaded full length shall be within the limits specifiedfor Dsin Table 4. For standard diameter-length combinations ofscrews, the values for Lgmax. an

40、d Lsmin. are specifiedin Table 8.NOTE: Incorporation of a common Lgand Lslength for adjacentbolt lengths allows the manufacturer to use fewer tools and reduceset-up time when making these products. When this concept doesnot suit the intended application, the required Lgand Lsdimensionsmay be calcula

41、ted using the formulas given in paras. 17.2 and 17.3.17.1 Grip Gaging Length, Lgmax.Grip gaging length, Lgmax., is the distance, measuredparallel to the axis of the screw, from the plane4formed by the bearing circle diameter to the face of anoncounterbored or noncountersunk standard GO threadring ga
