It is not the intent of this Standard to preventindividual organizations from designing specific formats that meet their i

22、ndividual needs, butrather to provide common engineering delineation standards to aid the interchange of drawingsbetween industry, government, and other users. This Standard is a revision of ASME Y14.1M-1995, Metric Drawing Sheet Size and Format. Ithas been prepared in alignment with the United State

23、s Omnibus Trade and Competitiveness Actof 1988, Section 5164, Metric Usage. This Standard utilizes International Standard ISO 5457 as the basis for recommended metricengineering drawing size and format. This Standard has been developed to lend itself with the least amount of variation from thepresentl

24、y recognized International Standard, and has been structured to support the United StatesDoD metrication policy and objectives.Work on the revision of this Standard began in May 1999 in Minneapolis, Minnesota by themembers of Subcommittee 1.The following is a summary of the significant changes that

25、were incorporated into this revision.(a) Added reference to ASME Y14.100 in para. 1.1 (previous para. 1), Scope.(b) Revised para. 1.4 (previously para. 3), Applicable Documents, to clarify lead sentence usingthe same wording as is in ASME Y14.24; removed date of issuance from referenced standards;up

26、dated the title of Y14.34M, and added reference to Y14.35M and Y14.100.(c) Added para. 1.5, Definitions.(d) Revised para. 2.1.2 (formerly para. 4.1.1) to allow extra length margins in both vertical andhorizontal directions and removed minimum size requirement for extra length.(e) Combined the intent

27、 of paras. 2.3.1 and 2.3.2 (formerly paras. 4.3.1 and 4.3.2, respectively)into one paragraph under para. 2.3.(f) Condensed description of Block A.(g) Description of Block E was rewritten for clarity.(h) Qualified the use of CAGE Code in Block I description.(i) Revised Block L description to allow to

Added requirement for consecutive whole sheet numbers tobe used in initial preparation.(j) Deleted Sections 12, Computer-Generated Drawing File Identifiers, and 13, Limited Rightor Copyright Legends. Both were de
