1、Designation: A1073/A1073M 12Standard Practice forUsing Hand Micrometers to Measure the Thickness ofNonmetallic and Metallic-Coated Steel Sheet1This standard is issued under the fixed designation A1073/A1073M; the number immediately following the designation indicates theyear of original adoption or,

2、 in the case of revision, the year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of lastreapproval. A superscript epsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This practice defines procedures for measuring thethickness of nonmetallic and m

3、etallic-coated steel sheet.Thickness is a significant quality characteristic of steel sheetproducts. The ability to accurately measure thickness usinghand micrometers is critical in determining product confor-mance to specifications. The methods described are designedand intended for use in both lab

4、oratory and plant situations andtheir environments.1.2 The flat steel product shall conform to all the require-ments of the appropriate specifications as follows: Specifica-tions A924/A924M and A917.1.3 Quantitative limits are not addressed and are establishedin the general requirements, or individu
