3、DP) grade, and transformation inducedplasticity (TRIP) grade steel sheet in coils and cut lengths.1.2 Product furnished under this specification shall conformto the applicable requirements of the latest issue of Specifica-tion A568/A568M, unless otherwise provided herein.1.3 The product is available

4、 in a number of designations andgrades with mandatory chemical requirements and mandatorymechanical properties that are achieved through thermal orthermal-mechanical treatments, and are designed to be com-patible with automotive application requirements.1.4 The grade designation nomenclature of the

5、productdiffers from other cold-rolled sheet products having mandatorymechanical properties in that ordering is to tensile, rather thanyield strength values.1.5 The text of this specification references notes andfootnotes that provide explanatory material. These notes andfootnotes, excluding those in

6、 tables and figures, shall not beconsidered as requirements of this specification.1.6 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded asstandard. 16、n A568/A568M.5. Ordering Information5.1 It is the purchasers responsibility to specify in thepurchase order all ordering information necessary to describethe required material. Examples of such information include,but are not limited to, the following:5.1.1 ASTM specification number and year of issu

21、osition6.1 The heat analysis of the steel shall conform to therequirements shown in Table 1.6.2 Each of the elements listed in Table 1 shall be includedin the report of heat analysis, including each element incolumns with grouped elements. When the amount of copper,nickel, chromium, or molybdenum is

22、 less than 0.02 %, reportthe analysis as either 0.02 % or the actual determined value.When the amount of vanadium, titanium, or niobium is lessthan 0.008 %, report the analysis as either 0.008 % or theactual determined value.NOTE 3Niobium is also known as Columbium.6.2.1 See Specification A568/A568M

Mechanical Properties7.1 All designations and grades shall conform to themechanical property requirements in Table 2.7.1.1 All designations and grades shall conform to bakehardening index requirements included in Table 2. The mini

24、-mum increase in yield strength is based on the lower yieldstress, after a prestrained specimen has been exposed to astandard bake cycle of 170C for 20 min. The method formeasuring the bake hardening index is described in the AnnexA1.7.2 Mechanical property tests shall be conducted in accor-dance wi

25、th the methods specified in Specification A568/A568M, or those prescribed by the purchaser.7.3 Bending Properties Minimum Cold Bending RadiiHigh-strength sheet steels are commonly fabricated by coldbending. There are many interrelated factors that affect theability of a steel to cold form over a giv

26、en radius under shopconditions. Finish and Appearance8.1 Surface Finish:8.1.1 Unless otherwise specified, the sheet shall have amatte finish. When required, specify the appropriate su

32、rfacetexture and condition. For additional information, see theFinish and Condition section of Specification A568/A568M.8.2 Oiling:8.2.1 Unless otherwise specified, the sheet shall be oiled.8.2.2 When required, specify the sheet to be furnished notoiled (dry).9. Retests and Disposition of Non-Confor

BAKE HARDENABLE INDEXA1.1 Determination of Bake Hardening IndexA1.1.1 The bake hardening index (BHI) is determined by atwo-step procedure using a standard longitudinal (rollingdirection) tensile-te

36、st specimen, prepared in accordance withTest Methods A370. The test specimen is first strained intension. The magnitude of this tensile “pre-strain” shall be 2 %(extension under load). The test specimen is then removedfrom the test machine and baked at a temperature of 170C fora period of 20 minutes

Referring to Fig. A1.1, the bakehardening (BHI) of the material is calculated as follows:BHI 5 B 2 A (A1.1)where:A = flow stress at 2 % extension under load.B = yield strength (upper yield strength (BU) or lower yieldstrength (BL) after baking at 170C for 20 min.A1.1.2 The original test specimen c

38、ross section (width andthickness) is used in the calculation of all engineering strengthsin this test.A1.1.3 The pre-straining of 2 % in tension is intended tosimulate a modest degree of forming strain, while the subse-quent baking is intended to simulate a paint-curing or similartreatment.
