General Requirements4.1 Material furnished under this specification shall con-form to the applicable requirements of the current edition o
9、fSpecification A450/A450M, unless otherwise provided herein.5. Manufacture5.1 Tubes shall be made by the seamless process and shallbe cold drawn.6. Heat Treatment6.1 Tubes shall be heat treated after the final cold draw passat a temperature of 1200F 650C or higher.7. Surface Condition7.1 Finished tu
10、bes shall be free of scale. A slight amount ofoxidation will not be considered as scale.8. Chemical Composition8.1 The steel shall conform to the following requirements asto chemical composition:Carbon, % 0.060.18Manganese, % 0.270.63Phosphorus, max, % 0.035Sulfur, max, % 0.0358.2 Supplying an alloy
11、 grade that specifically requires theaddition of any element other than those listed in 8.1 is notpermitted.9. Product Analysis9.1 When requested on the purchase order, a product analy-sis shall be made by the supplier from 1 tube per 250 pieces orwhen tubes are identified by heat, one tube per heat
12、 shall beanalyzed. Both retests, forthe elements in question, shall meet the requirements of thespecification; otherwise all remaining material in
16、the heat or lot(Note 2) shall be rejected or, at the option of the producer, eachbillet or tube may be individually tested for acceptance. Billetsor tubes which do not meet the requirements of the specifica-tion shall be rejected.NOTE 2A lot consists of 250 tubes.10. Hardness Requirements10.1 The tu
17、bes shall have a hardness number not exceeding72 HRB.11. Mechanical Tests Required11.1 Flattening TestOne flattening test shall be made onspecimens from each of two tubes from each lot (Note 2)orfraction thereof.11.2 Flaring TestOne flaring test shall be made on speci-mens from each of two tubes fro
18、m each lot (Note 2) or fractionthereof.11.3 Flange TestWhen specified as a substitute for theflaring test, for tubes having a wall thickness (actual meanwall) less than 10 % of the outside diameter, one test shall bemade on specimens from each of two tubes from each lot (Note2) or fraction thereof.
19、For tubes other than specified above, theflange test shall not be required.11.4 Hardness TestRockwell hardness tests shall be madeon specimens from two tubes from each lot. The term lotapplies to all tubes, prior to cutting, of the same nominaldiameter and wall thickness which are produced from the
20、sameheat of steel. When final heat treatment is in a batch-typefurnace, a lot shall include only those tubes of the same sizeand the same heat which are heat treated in the same furnacecharge. When the final heat treatment is in a continuousfurnace, a lot shall include all tubes of the same size and
21、 heat,heat treated in the same furnace at the same temperature, timeat heat, and furnace speed.11.5 Hydrostatic TestEach tube shall be subjected to thehydrostatic test, or, instead of this test, a nondestructive electrictest may be used when specified by the purchaser.12. Product Marking12.1 In addi
22、tion to the marking prescribed in SpecificationA450/A450M, the marking shall include the name and ordernumber of the purchaser.13.
