Scope*1.1 This specification2covers manganese-vanadium-nickelalloy steel plates intended primari

3、ly for welded layered pres-sure vessels.1.2 Plates under this specification are available in twogrades having different strength levels as follows:Grade Tensile Strength, ksi MPaC 105135 725930D3 in. 75 mm and under 80105 550725Over 3 in. 75 mm 75100 5156901.3 The maximum thickness of plates is limi

4、ted only by thecapacity of the chemical composition to meet the specifiedmechanical property requirements; however, current mill prac-tice normally limits Grade C to 0.58 in. 15 mm maximum andGrade D to 6 in. 150 mm maximum.1.4 The values stated in either inch-pound units or SI unitsare to be regard

5、ed separately as standard. Within the text, theSI units are shown in brackets. The values stated in eachsystem are not exact equivalents; therefore, each system mustbe used independently of the other. General Requirements and Ordering Information3.1 Plates supplied to this product specification shall con-form to Specification A 20/A 20M, which outlines the testingand retesting methods and procedures

8、, permissible variationsin dimensions and mass, quality and repair of defects, marking,loading, etc.3.2 Specification A 20/A 20M also establishes the rules forordering information that should be complied with whenpurchasing plates to this specification.3.3 In addition to the basic requirements of th

9、is specifica-tion, certain supplementary requirements are available whereadditional control, testing, or examination is required to meetend use requirements.3.4 The purchaser is referred to the listed supplementaryrequirements in this specification and to the detailed require-ments in Specification

10、A 20/A 20M.3.5 Coils are excluded from qualification to this specifica-tion until they are processed into finished plates. Platesproduced from coil means plates that have been cut toindividual lengths from coil. The processor directly controls, oris responsible for, the operations involved in the pr

11、ocessing ofcoils into finished plates. Such operations include decoiling,leveling, cutting to length, testing, inspection, conditioning,heat treatment (if applicable), packaging, marking, loading forshipment, and certification.NOTE 1For plates produced from coil and furnished without heattreatment o

12、r with stress relieving only, three test results are reported foreach qualifying coil. Materials and Manufacture4.1 Steelmaking PracticeThe steel shall be killed andshall conform to the fine austenitic grain size requirement ofSpecification A 20/A 20M.5. Heat Treatment5.1 Grade D plates of all thicknesses and Grade C plates ofthi

17、cknesses over 2 in. 50 mm shall be normalized.5.2 Grade C plates 2 in. 50 mm and under in thickness areusually supplied in the as-rolled condition. The plates may beordered normalized or stress-relieved, or both.6. Chemical Composition6.1 The steel shall conform to the chemical requirementsgiven in

18、Table 1, unless otherwise modified in accordance withSupplementary Requirement S17, Vacuum Carbon-DeoxidizedSteel, in Specification A 20/A 20M.7. Mechanical Properties7.1 Tension TestThe plates, as represented by the tensiontest specimens, shall conform to the requirements given inTable 2.7.2 For pl
