Process3.1 The castings shall be made in accordance with Specifi-cation A47/A47M.4. Materials and Manufacture4.1 The sizes, shapes, and dimensions of the fit
7、tings, cov-ered by ANSI B16.3 shall conform to the requirements thereinspecified.4.2 Screwed pipe fittings, unions, union fittings, and globeand angle valves that are covered by the various standards andrecommended practices as issued by the Association of Ameri-can Railroads shall conform to the re
8、quirements therein speci-fied.4.3 All pipe threads, unless otherwise specified, shall be inaccordance with ANSI B2.1. (Standards for pipe threads arealso available in Section VI of Screw-Thread Standards forFederal Services.)4.4 Zinc coatings on fittings which are required to begalvanized by the hot
9、-dip process shall conform to the require-ments for Class A castings as prescribed in SpecificationA153/A153M, except on surfaces where it is the practice tomachine after galvanizing.5. Manufacture Control and Records5.1 The iron shall be produced under constant control ofchemical composition and ph
10、ysical properties. Records of thechemical composition of the iron and of the physical propertiesof the test specimens shall be systematically made and main-tained.6.
