Scope1.1 This specification covers

3、the more commonly used typesof round stainless steel wire intended especially for weavingand knitting.1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas the standard.2. Ordering Information3.1 It is the responsibility of the purchaser to specify allrequirements that are necessary for material ordered under thisspecification. Such requirements may include, but are notli

5、mited to, the following:3.1.1 Quantity (weight),3.1.2 Name of material (stainless steel),3.1.3 Condition (see Section 5),3.1.4 Finish (see Section 7),3.1.5 Cross section (round),3.1.6 Form (wire),3.1.7 Applicable dimensions (diameter),3.1.8 Type designation (see Table 1),3.1.9 ASTM designation and d

6、ate of issue, and3.1.10 Special requirements.3.2 If possible, the intended end use of the item should begiven on the purchase order especially when the item is orderedfor a specific end use or uses.NOTE 1A typical ordering description is as follows: 1000 lb; stainlesssteel, dead soft, bright anneale

7、d wire, 0.015 in. diameter, spools, Type 304,ASTM Specification A 478 dated _, End Use Wire Screen.4. Chemical Composition4.1 The steel shall conform to the requirements as tochemical composition specified in Table 1.4.2 Methods and practices relating to chemical analysisrequired by this specificati

8、on shall be in accordance with TestMethods, Practices, and Terminology A 751.5. Conditions5.1 Wire may be furnished in one of the following condi-tions:5.1.1 Annealed,5.1.2 Bright annealed, or5.1.3 Cold drawn.6. Mechanical Requirements6.1 The material shall conform to the requirements as tomechanica

9、l properties specified in Table 2.7. Finish7.1 The types of finish procurable are as follows:7.1.1 Pickled finish and7.1.2 Bright finish.8. General Requirements for Delivery8.1 In addition to the requirements of this specification, allrequirements of the current edition of Specification A 555/A 555M

10、 shall apply. Failure to comply with the generalrequirements of Specification A 555/A 555M constitutes non-conformance with this specification.9. Packaging9.1 Each coil or spool shall be one continuous length ofwire. Each coil shall be firmly tied and each spool shall betightly wound. Unless otherwi

11、se specified, coils shall be placedin drums or shall be paper wrapped, and spools shall be boxedin such a manner as to ensure safe delivery to their destinationwhen properly transported by any common carrier.10.
