When cold-rolledsheet is used for unexposed applications and coil breaks are ahazard in uncoiling, it may be necessary to further process thematerial. In this case the manufacturer should be consulted. After annealing, cold-rolled sheet is generally given a lightskin pass to impart shape or may be given a heavier skin passor temper pass to prevent the phenomenon known as stretcherstraining or fluting, when formed.
