、Designation: A 633/A633M 01 (Reapproved 2006)Standard Specification forNormalized High-Strength Low-Alloy Structural Steel Plates1This standard is issued under the fixed designation A 633/A633M; the number immediately following the designation indicates the yearof original adoption or, in the case o

、f revision, the year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval.A superscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval. This standard has been approved for use by agencies of the Department of Defense.1. Scope1.1 This specifi

、cation covers normalized high-strength low-alloy structural steel plates for welded, riveted, or boltedconstruction.1.2 This material is particularly suited for service at lowambient temperatures of 50F 45C and higher wherenotch toughness better than that expected in as-rolled materialof a comparabl

、e strength level is desired.1.3 Four grades, designated Grades A, C, D, and E (essen-tially former Specification A 633 without a grade designation)are covered by this specification. GradeAprovides a minimumyield point of 42 ksi 290 MPa in thicknesses through 4 in.100 mm, inclusive. Grades C and D pr

、ovide a minimum yieldpoint of 50 ksi 345 MPa in thicknesses up to 2.50 in. 65mm, inclusive and 46.0 ksi 315 MPa in thicknesses over2.50 in. to 4.0 in. 65 to 100 mm, inclusive. Grade E providesa minimum yield point of 60 ksi 415 MPa in thicknesses upto 4.0 in. 100 mm, inclusive and 55 ksi 380 MPa int

、hicknesses over 4 in. to 6 in. 100 to 150 mm, inclusive.1.4 Current practice normally limits plates furnished underthis specification to the maximum thicknesses shown in 1.3.The individual manufacturer should be consulted on sizelimitations for other product forms.1.5 When the steel is to be welded,

、 it is presupposed that awelding procedure suitable for the grade of steel and intendeduse or service will be utilized. SeeAppendix X3 no id found ofSpecification A 6/A 6M for information on weldability.1.6 The values stated in either inch-pound units or SI unitsare to be regarded as standard. Withi

、n the text, the SI units areshown in brackets. The values stated in each system are notexact equivalents; therefore, each system must be used inde-pendently of the other. Combining values from the two systemsmay result in nonconformance with this specification.2. Referenced Documents2.1 ASTM Standar
