General Requirements4.1 Products furnished to this specification shall conform tothe requirements of Specification A 960/A 960M, includingany supplementary requirements that are indicated in thepurchase order. Failure to co

、mply with the general require-ments of Specification A 960/A 960M constitutes nonconfor-mance with this specification. In case of conflict between therequirements of this specification and Specification A 960/A 960M, this specification shall prevail.5. Materials5.1 The material for fittings shall be

、 fully killed fine-grainmaterial made by a melting process that is intended to producerounded, well dispersed, fine sulfide inclusions, that promotegood notch toughness, assists in the resistance to hydrogeninduced cracking, and for weldability suitable for field-welding.5.2 Starting materials shall

、 consist of plate, sheet, forgings, forging quality bar and seamless or fusion welded tubularproducts with filler metal added. The chemical compositionshall conform to Table 1.5.3 Astarting material that specifically requires the additionof any element beyond those listed in Table 1 is not permitted.

、This does not preclude the use of deoxidizers.5.4 Starting materials shall not require a preheat for fieldwelding provided that the restrictions of ASME Boiler andPressure Vessel Code, Section VIII, Paragraph UW-30 arecomplied with.6.
