、Designation: A890/A890M 18aStandard Specification forCastings, Iron-Chromium-Nickel-Molybdenum Corrosion-Resistant, Duplex (Austenitic/Ferritic) for GeneralApplication1This standard is issued under the fixed designation A890/A890M; the number immediately following the designation indicates the yearo

、f original adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval.A superscript epsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope*1.1 This specification covers a group of cast duplex stainle

、sssteels (austenitic/ferritic).1.2 The duplex stainless steel alloys offer a combination ofenhanced mechanical properties and corrosion resistance whenproperly balanced in composition and properly heat treated.Ferrite levels are not specified, but these alloys will develop arange of approximately 30

、 to 60 % ferrite with the balanceaustenite. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to determinewhich grade shall be furnished depending on design andservice conditions, mechanical properties, and corrosion-resistant characteristics.NOTE 1Because of the possibility of precipitation of embrittlingp

、hases, the grades included in this specification are not recommended forservice at temperatures above 600 F 315 C.1.3 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound unitsare to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated ineach system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, eachsystem

、 shall be used independently of the other. Combiningvalues from the two systems may result in nonconformancewith the standard.1.3.1 Within the text, the SI units are shown in brackets.1.4 This international standard was developed in accor-dance with internationally recognized principles on standard-
