Significance and Use4.1 The Form and Style Manual provides mandatory requirements and recommended practices for the preparation and contentof ASTM specifications. In order to promote consistency in the style and content of product specificatio

Section Contents6.1 Title:6.1.1 The title should be as concise as possible, but

When a subcommittee determines thattemperature categories mustshould be used in the title of

When a subcommittee determines thata temperature category mustshould be used in a title, one of the following should be selected: cryo

The subdivision grade should be based upon chemical composition, a mechanical prope

The subdivision type should be based on some major property, such as manufacture, product form, or genericclassification. The precedence of grad

The establishment of temperature limitations on the use of materials is the responsibility of code committees.6.2.5.1 When a subcommittee determines that temperature categories mustshould be used in a specific standard, numericaltemperature ranges should not be used. The categories should be limited to the following: cryogenic, low, ambient, moderate, elevated, or high.6.2.5.2 When a temperature category is used in the scope of a stan
