3、This specification establishes the requirements forcopper-zinc-lead (leaded red brass or hardware bronze) rod,bar, and shapes of UNS Copper Alloy Nos. C31400, C31600,and C32000 available for general and screw machine applica-tions.1.2 UnitsValues stated in either inch-pound units or SIunits are to b

4、e regarded separately as standard. Within the text,SI units are shown in brackets. The values in each system maynot be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be usedindependently of the other. Combining values from the twosystems may result in nonconformance with the specification.1.3 This

Material and Manufacture5.1 Material:5.1.1 The material of manufacture shall be a form (castbillets, logs, or rods) of Copper Alloy UNS Nos. C31400,C31600, or C32000 of such purity and soundness as to besuitable for processing

18、 into the products prescribed herein.5.2 Manufacture:5.2.1 The product shall be manufactured by such hotworking, cold working, straightening, and annealing processesas to produce a uniform wrought structure in the finishedproduct.6. Chemical Composition6.1 The material shall conform to the chemical

19、compositionrequirements in Table 1 for the Copper Alloy UNS No.designation specified in the ordering information.6.1.1 These composition limits do not preclude the presenceof other elements. By agreement between the manufacturer andthe purchaser, limits may be established and analysis requiredfor un

20、named elements.6.2 For alloys in which zinc is listed as the “remainder,”either copper or zinc may be taken as the difference betweenthe sum of results of all other elements determined and 100 %.When copper is so determined, that difference value shallconform to the requirements given in Table 1.6.3

21、 When all elements in Table 1 are determined, the sum ofthe results shall be 99.6 % minimum.7. Temper7.1 The standard tempers, as defined in Classification B601,for products described in this specification are O60 (softanneal), H02 (half-hard), and H04 (hard).8. Mechanical Property Requirements8.1 T

22、ensile Strength Requirements:8.1.1 Product furnished under this specification shall con-form to the tensile requirements prescribed in Table 2 (inch-pound units) or Table 3 (SI units) when tested in accordancewith Test Methods E8/E8M.9. Dimensions, Mass and Permissible Variations9.1 The dimensions a

23、nd tolerances for product described bythis specification shall be as specified in Specification B249/B249M with particular reference to the following tables andrelated paragraphs:9.2 Diameter or Distance Between Parallel Surfaces:9.2.1 RodRefer to Table 1 for round, hexagonal and oc-tagonal rod.9.2.

24、2 BarRefer to Table 8 for thickness and Table 10 forwidth.9.3 LengthRefer to Tables 13 and 14.9.4 StraightnessRefer to Table 16. General use or auto-matic screw machine use as chosen in the purchase order.9.5 ShapesThe dimensional tolerances for shapes shall beagreed upon between the manufacturer or
