Scope*1.1 This specification e

3、stablishes the requirements for cop-per products, flat wire and strip, with rolled or drawn finishededges produced for general application.1.1.1 The product is produced in UNS Copper Nos.C10100, C10200, C10300, C10500, C10700, C10800, C11000,C11040, C12200, and C14200 unless otherwise established by

4、agreement between manufacturer and purchaser.1.2 UnitsValues stated in inch-pound units are to beregarded as standard. Material and Manufacture6.1 Material:6.1.1 The material of manufacture shall be a copper billet,cake, wire bar, or rod produced to Specifications B 5, B 170, orB 379.

19、6.1.2 Copper other than that listed in 1.1.1 is permitted onlyupon agreement between the manufacturer and the purchaser(see Note 1).6.2 Manufacture:6.2.1 The product shall be manufactured by such hot-working, cold-working, and annealing processes as to producea uniform wrought structure in the finis

20、hed product.6.3 EdgesThe edges shall be finished by rolling or draw-ing per 13.6.7. Chemical Composition7.1 The material shall conform to the chemical composi-tional requirements in Table 1 for the copper UNS No.designation specified in the ordering information.7.1.1 These compositional limits do no

21、t preclude the pres-ence of other elements. When required, limits shall be estab-lished and analysis required for unnamed elements by agree-ment between the manufacturer and the purchaser.8. Temper8.1 The standard tempers for products described in thisspecification are given in Table 2.8.1.1 Anneale

22、d temper O61.8.1.2 Cold-worked tempers H00, H01, H02, H03, H04,H06, and H08.9. Physical Property Requirement9.1 Electrical Resistivity Requirement:9.1.1 When specified in contract or purchase order (seesection 5) Copper UNS No. C10100, C10200, C10300,C11000, C11040, C10500, and C10700 shall conform

23、to theelectrical mass resisitivity requirements in Table 2, when testedin accordance with Test Method B 193. When ElectricalResistivity testing is specified for other copper alloys theacceptance requirements shall be established by agreementbetween the manufacturer and the purchaser.NOTE 2The Intern

(0.90 mm) in thickness shallconform to the requirements prescribed in Table 2 when testedin accordance with Test Methods E8.10.2 Rockwell Hardness:10

31、.2.1 Product over 0.035 in. (0.90 mm) in thickness shallconform to the hardness requirements prescribed in Table 2when tested in accordance with Test Methods E18.10.2.1.1 Rockwell hardness test results shall be the basis foracceptance or rejection for mechanical properties for productover 0.035 in.

32、(0.90 mm) in thickness.11. Performance Requirements11.1 Hydrogen Embrittlement Susceptibility:11.1.1 Samples of finished flat wire and strip of CopperUNS Nos. C10100, C10200, C10300, C10500, C10700,C10800, C12200, and C14200 shall be capable of passing theembrittlement test of Procedure B of Test Me

33、thods B 577. Theactual performance of this test is not mandatory under theterms of this specification unless definitely specified in theordering information (see 5).11.1.2 In case of dispute, Test Method C of Test MethodsB 577 shall be used.11.2 Bend Test Requirement:11.2.1 When specified in contrac

34、t or purchase order andtested in accordance with Test Method E 290, the specimenshall withstand being bent cold (room temperature) on a radiusequal to the minimum cross sectional dimension to the angleprescribed in Table 2. The bend shall be radial to this minimumdimension and after bending, no frac

35、ture shall be visible to theunaided eye on the outside bent surface.12. Purchases for U.S. Government12.1 When specified in the contract or purchase order,product purchased for an agency of the U.S. government shallconform to the special government requirements specified inthe Supplementary Requirem

36、ents section of SpecificationB 248 or B 250/B 250M, as appropriate.13. Dimensions and Permissible Variations13.1 GeneralFor the purpose of determining conform-ance with the dimensional requirements prescribed in thisspecification, any measured value outside the specified limitingvalues for any dimen

37、sion may be cause for rejection.NOTE 3Blank spaces in the tolerance tables indicate either that thematerial is not generally available or that no tolerances have beenestablished.13.2 ThicknessThe standard method of specifying thick-ness shall be in decimal fractions of an inch. The tolerancesshall b

38、e as shown in Table 3.13.3 WidthThe standard method of specifying width shallbe in decimal fractions of an inch. The tolerances shall be asshown in Table 4.13.4 LengthsHard temper flat wire and strip, unless oth-erwise specified, (see 5.1.6) shall be furnished in straightlengths.13.4.1 Straight leng

39、ths shall be furnished in stock lengthswith ends included, in accordance with the schedule shown inTable 5, unless the order specifies stock lengths only, specificlengths, or specific lengths with ends.13.4.2 The length tolerance for full length pieces shall be asshown in Table 6.13.4.3 Soft temper

48、 and astraightedge.13.6 Edge Contours:13.6.1 Square CornersUnless otherwise specified, thematerial shall be finished with commercially square cornerswith the maximum permissible radius as shown in Table 8.13.6.2 Rounded CornersWhen specified, the materialmay be furnished with corners rounded as show

49、n in Fig. 1 to aquarter circle of a radius as shown in Table 9. The tolerance onthe radius shall be 625 %.13.6.3 Rounded EdgeWhen specified, the material maybe finished with edges rounded as shown in Fig. 2, with aradius of curvature as shown in Table 10.13.6.4 Full Rounded EdgeWhen specified, the materialshall be finished with substantially uniform round edges, theradius of curvature being approximately12 the thickness of theproduct as shown in Fig. 3, but in no case to exceed12 thethickness of the product by more than 25 %.14
