Scope*1.1 This specification establishes requirements for thread-less, sea

3、mless, deoxidized copper pipe (TP) in straight lengths,in all nominal or standard pipe sizes, for piping systems thatare assembled with brazed-joint pipe fittings. The pipe shall beproduced from either of coppers UNS Nos. C10300 or C12200.1.2 UnitsValues stated in inch-pound units are to beregarded

4、as standard. The values given in parentheses aremathematical conversions to SI units, which are provided forinformation only and are not considered standard.1.3 The following safety hazard caveat pertains only to thetest methods described Section 16 of this specification: Thisstandard does not purpo

Materials and Manufacture5.1 MaterialThe material of manufacture shall be castbillets, bars, or tubes of copper UNS No. C10300 or C12200 ofsuch purity and soundness as to be suitable for processing intofinished lengths o

16、f pipe to meet the properties prescribedherein.5.1.1 When specified in the contract or purchase order, thatheat identification or traceability is required, the purchasershall specify the details desired.NOTE 1Due to the discontinuous nature of the processing of castingsinto wrought products, it is n

17、ot always practical to identify specific castinganalysis with a specific quantity of finished product.5.2 Manufacture:5.2.1 The pipe shall be manufactured by such hot extrusionor piercing and subsequent cold working as to produce auniform, seamless wrought structure in the finished product.5.2.2 The

18、 product shall be cold worked to the finished sizeso as to meet the temper properties specified.6. Chemical Composition6.1 The material shall conform to the chemical compositionrequirements in Table 2 for the copper UNS No. designationspecified in the ordering information.6.2 These composition limit

19、s do not preclude the presenceof other elements. By agreement between the manufacture andpurchaser, limits may be established and analysis required forunnamed elements.7. Temper7.1 The product shall be furnished in the H58 (drawngeneral purpose) temper as defined in Classification B601.8. Mechanical

20、 Property Requirements8.1 Tensile Strength Requirement:8.1.1 Product in all sizes and coppers shall have a minimumtensile strength of 36 ksi (250 MPa) when tested in accordancewith Test Methods E8.8.1.2 The tension test need not be performed except whenspecified by the purchaser in the ordering info

21、rmation at thetime of placing of the order.8.2 Rockwell Hardness RequirementProduct in all sizesand coppers shall have a minimum Rockwell F hardness of 55when tested in accordance with Test Methods E18.9. Performance Requirements9.1 Microscopical ExaminationThe pipe shall be madefrom copper free fro

22、m cuprous oxide, as determined bymicroscopical examination at a magnification of 75 diametersaccording to Test Method A of Test Methods B577. Whencopper UNS No. C12200 is supplied, microscopical examina-tion for cuprous oxide is not required.10. Other Requirements Nondestructive TestRequirements10.1

23、 Electromagnetic (Eddy-Current) Test:10.1.1 Each tube up to and including 212-in. nominal pipesize shall be subjected to an eddy-current test. Testing shallfollow the procedures of Practice E243 and 16.2.3.10.1.1.1 Hydrostatic Test AlternativeAs an alternative tothe eddy-current test for tubes of di

24、ameters above 1.25 in. 33、s shall be 10 % of the nominalwall thickness.10.1.3.2 The sizes of drilled hole standards shall be deter-mined in accordance with Table X1.2 of Practice E243.10.2 Hydrostatic Test:10.2.1 When specified in the contract or purchase order, oras an alternative to the eddy-current test for tubes above 1.

(32 mm) in diameter (see 10.1.1.2), each tube shall stand,without showing evidence of leakage, an internal hydrostaticpressure sufficient to produce a fiber stress of 6000 psi (41MPa) as determined by the following equation for thin hollowcylinders under tension:P 5 2St/D 2 0.8t! 36、ct or purchase order.10.3 Pneumatic TestWhen specified in the contract orpurchase order, each tube shall be subjected to a minimuminternal air pressure of 60 psig (415 kPa) for 5 s withoutshowing evidence of leakage.11. Dimensions, Mass, and Permissible Variations11.1 GeneralThe standard method of s

37、pecifying wallthickness shall be in decimal fractions of an inch. For thepurpose of determining conformance with the dimensionalrequirements prescribed in this specification, any measuredvalue outside the specified limiting values for any dimensionshall be cause for rejection.11.2 Dimensions and Wei

38、ghtsDimensions and weights forthe various nominal or standard sizes, together with tolerancesin diameter and wall thickness, shall be in accordance withTable 1.11.3 Wall Thickness and Diameter TolerancesWall thick-ness and diameter tolerances shall be in accordance with Table1.11.4 Roundness Toleran

39、ceThe roundness tolerances shallbe in accordance with Table 3.11.5 Length and Length ToleranceThe standard length ofthe material shall be 20 ft (6.10 m) except for the 12-in.(305-mm) size, which shall be 15 ft (4.57 m). The lengthtolerances shall be plus 1 in. (25 mm), minus 0.11.6 Squareness of Cut

Sampling13.1 The lot size, portion size, and sample size of thefinished product shall be as follows:13.1.1 Lot SizeAn inspection lot shall be 5000 lbs (2270kg) or fraction thereof, subject to inspection at one time

43、 shall be taken from a separate tube.13.2 Chemical AnalysisSamples for chemical analysisshall be taken in accordance with Practice E255. Drillings,millings, and so forth shall be taken in approximately equalweight from each of the sample pieces selected in accordancewith 13.1 and combined into one c

44、omposite sample. Theminimum weight of the composite sample that is to be dividedinto three equal parts shall be 150 g.13.2.1 As an alternative to sampling in accordance withPractice E255, the manufacturer shall determine conformanceto chemical composition as follows: Conformance shall bedetermined b

45、y the manufacturer by analyzing samples taken atthe time the castings are poured or samples taken from thesemifinished product. If the manufacturer determines thechemical composition of the material during the course ofmanufacture, the manufacturer shall not be required to sampleand analyze the fini

46、shed product. The number of samples takenfor determination of chemical composition shall be as follows:13.2.1.1 When samples are taken at the time the castings arepoured, at least one sample shall be taken for each group ofcastings poured simultaneously from the same source ofmolten metal.13.2.1.2 W

47、hen samples are taken from the semifinishedproduct, a sample shall be taken to represent each 10 000 lb(4550 kg) or fraction thereof, except that not more than onesample shall be required per piece.14.
