Scope*1.1 This specification2covers rod of low-carbon nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys (UNS N10276, N06022,N06035, N06455, N06058, and N06059)*, low-carbon nickel-molybdenum-chromi

4、um (USN N10362), low-carbon nickel-molybdenum-chromium-tantalum (UNS N06210), low-carbonnickel-chromium-molybdenum-copper alloy (UNS N06200),and low-carbon nickel-chromium-molybdenum-tungsten(UNS N06686) as shown in Table 1, for use in generalcorrosive service.1.2 The following products are covered

30、wancesWhen the surfaces of finishedmaterial are to be machined, the following allowances aresuggested for normal machining operations.7.3.1 As-finished (Annealed and Descaled)For diametersof516 to1116 in. (7.94 to 17.46 mm) inclusive, an allowance of116 in. (1.59 mm) on the diameter should be made f

31、or finishmachining.7.4 Length:7.4.1 Unless multiple, nominal, or cut lengths are specified,random mill lengths shall be furnished.7.4.2 The permissible variations in length of multiple,nominal, or cut length rod shall be as prescribed in Table 6.Where rods are ordered in multiple lengths, a14-in. 35、alysis and Mechanical Testing:9.1.1 A lot for chemical analysis shall consist of one heat.9.1.2 A lot of bar for mechanical testing shall be defined asthe material from one heat in the same condition and specifieddiameter.9.2 Sampling for Chemical Analysis:9.2.1 A representative sample shall be obta

36、ined from eachheat during pouring or subsequent processing.9.2.2 Product (check) analysis shall be wholly the respon-sibility of the purchaser.9.3 Sampling for Mechanical TestingA representativesample shall be taken from each lot of finished material.10. Number of Tests and Retests10.1 Chemical Anal

37、ysisOne test per heat.10.2 Tension TestsOne test per lot.10.3 RetestsIf the specimen used in the mechanical test ofany lot fails to meet the specified requirements, two additionalspecimens shall be taken from different sample pieces andtested. The results of the tests on both of these specimens shal

38、lmeet the specified requirements.11. Specimen Preparation11.1 Tension test specimens shall be taken from materialafter final heat-treatment and tested in the direction of fabri-cation.11.2 Tension test specimens shall be any of the standard orsubsized specimens shown in Test Methods E8.11.3 In the e

39、vent of disagreement, the referee specimenshall be the largest possible round specimen shown in TestMethods E8.12. Test Methods12.1 The chemical composition and mechanical propertiesof the material as enumerated in this specification shall bedetermined, in case of disagreement, in accordance with th

40、efollowing ASTM methods:12.1.1 Chemical AnalysisTest Methods E1473, For ele-ments not covered by Test Methods E1473, the referee methodshall be as agreed upon between the manufacturer and thepurchaser. Rejection and Rehearing14.1 Material that fails to conform to the requirements ofthis specification may be rejected. Rejection should be rep

46、ortedto the producer or supplier promptly and in writing. In case ofdissatisfaction with the results of the test, the producer orsupplier may make claim for a rehearing.15. Certification15.1 When specified in the purchase order or contract, amanufacturers certification shall be furnished to the purc

47、haserstating that material has been manufactured, tested, and in-spected in accordance with this specification, and that the testresults on representative samples meet specification require-ments. When specified in the purchase order or contract, areport of the test results shall be furnished.16. Pr

48、oduct Marking16.1 Each piece of material12 in. (12.7 mm) and over indiameter shall be marked with the specification number, alloy,heat number, manufacturers identification, and size. Themarkings shall have no deleterious effect on the material or itsperformance and shall be sufficiently stable to wi

49、thstandnormal handling.16.2 Each bundle or shipping container shall be markedwith the name of the material; this specification number; alloy;the size; gross, tare and net weight; consignor and consigneeaddress; contract or order number; and such other informationas may be defined in the contract or order.17.
