Ordering Information5.1 Orders for castings under this specification shouldinclude the following information:5.1.1 Specification title, number, and year of issue,5.1.2 Quantity of castings,5.1

Manufacture6.1 Copper alloy UNS Nos. C94700 and C96800 may besupplied in t
32、he heat treated condition to obtain the highermechanical properties shown in Table 2. Suggested heattreatments for these alloys are given in Table 3.Actual practicemay vary by manufacturer.6.2 Separately cast test bar coupons representing castingsmade in copper alloy UNS Nos. C94700HT and C96800HTsh
33、all be heat treated with the castings.7. Chemical Composition7.1 The castings shall conform to the compositional require-ments for named elements as shown in Table 4 for the copperalloy UNS numbers specified in the purchase order.7.2 These specification limits do not preclude the presenceof other el
34、ements. Limits may be established and analysisrequired for unnamed elements agreed upon between manu-facturer or supplier and purchaser. Copper or zinc, when zincis 20 % or greater, may be given as remainder and may betaken as the difference between the sum of all elementsanalyzed and 100 %. When al
35、l named elements in Table 4 areanalyzed, their sum shall be as specified in Table 5.7.3 It is recognized that residual elements may be present incast copper alloys. Analysis shall be made for residual ele-ments only when specified in the purchase order.8. Mechanical Properties8.1 Mechanical properti
36、es shall be determined from sepa-rately cast test bar castings, and shall meet the requirementsshown in Table 2.9. Casting Repair9.1 The castings shall not be weld repaired without approvalof the purchaser (5.2.3).9.2 The castings shall not be impregnated without approvalof the purchaser (5.2.3).10.

40、.3 Castings shall be marked with the manufacturersname, the copper alloy UNS number, and the casting qualityfactor. In addition, heat numbers or serial numbers that aretraceable to heat numbers shall be marked on all pressure-containing castings individually weighing 50 lbs (22.7 kg) ormore. Pressur
41、e-containing castings weighing less than 50 lbs(22.7 kg) shall be marked with either the heat number or aserial number that will identify the casting as to the month inwhich it was poured. Marking shall be in such a position as tonot impair the usefulness of the casting.10.2 The castings shall not b
42、e repaired, plugged, welded, or“burned in” unless permission from the purchaser has beenpreviously secured. This will be given only when the defectsare such that after the approved repair the usefulness andstrength of the castings has not been impaired.10.3 Alloys in this specification are generally
43、 weldable.Preparation for repair welding shall include inspection toensure complete removal of the defect. Repairs shall be madeutilizing welding procedures qualified in accordance withSection IX if the ASME code and repair welding shall be doneby welders or welding operators meeting the qualificati
44、onrequirements ofASME Section IX. The following records shallbe maintained:10.3.1 A sketch or drawing showing the dimensions, depth,and location of excavations,10.3.2 Postweld heat treatment, when applicable,10.3.3 Weld repair inspection results,10.3.4 Casting identification number,10.3.5 Weld proce
45、dure identification number,10.3.6 Welder identification, and10.3.7 Name of inspector.11. Sampling11.1 Test bar castings for copper alloy UNS Nos. C86200,C86300, C86400, C86500, and C86700 shall be cast to theform and dimensions shown in Figs. 1 or 2 of Practice B208.Test bar castings for all other a
46、lloys listed in this specificationshall be cast to the form and dimensions shown in Figs. 2, 3, or4 of Practice B208.11.2 When castings are specified to meet the requirementsof the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, for smallremelts the lot size shall not exceed 1000 lbs (455 kg) ofcastings and s
