Materials and Manufacture5.1 Heat TreatmentWith the exception of UNS N08936,the material shall be supplied in the solution-treated
19、conditionexcept as noted in 5.2. UNS N08936 shall be supplied in thecold drawn condition.NOTE 1The recommended heat treatment shall consist of heating to atemperature of 2010 to 2100F (1100 to 1150C) followed by waterquenching for UNS N08925, UNS N08031, 1975 to 2150F (1080 to1180C) followed by wate
20、r quenching or fast air cool for UNS N08354,and UNS N08926, or 2010 to 2150F (1100 to 1180C) followed by waterquenching or fast air cool for UNS R20033.5.2 The heat treatment shall be waived for forging qualitymaterial.6. Chemical Composition6.1 The material sampled in accordance with 10.2 shallconf

Sampling10.1 Lots for Chemical Analysis and Mechanical Testing:
29、10.1.1 A lot for chemical analysis shall consist of one heat.10.1.2 Alot for testing and inspection purposes shall consistof material from one heat of the same condition (temper),finish, and cross section, and in no case more than 30 000 lb(13 600 kg) in mass.NOTE 2Where material cannot be identifie
30、d by heat, a lot shall consistof not more than 500 lb (227 kg) of material in the same thickness andcondition, except that for pieces weighing over 500 lb, only one specimenshall be taken.10.2 Sampling for Chemical Analysis:10.2.1 A representative sample shall be taken from eachheat during pouring o
31、r subsequent processing.10.2.2 If the manufacturer determines that the materialmeets the chemical requirements during pouring or subsequentprocessing, he shall not be required to sample and analyze thefinished product.10.2.3 Product analysis, if performed, shall be wholly theresponsibility of the pu
32、rchaser.10.3 Sampling for Mechanical Tests:10.3.1 A sample of the material to provide test specimensfor mechanical tests shall be taken from such a location in eachlot as to be representative of that lot.10.3.2 When samples are to be taken after delivery, thepurchaser of material ordered to cut leng
33、ths may request on thepurchase order additional material of adequate size to providesample coupons for inspection purposes.11. Number of Tests11.1 One chemical analysis shall be made on each lot inaccordance with 10.1.1.11.2 One tension test shall be made on each lot in accor-dance with 10.1.2.11.2.
34、1 If any specimens selected to represent any heat fail tomeet any of the test requirements, the material represented bysuch specimens may be reheat-treated and resubmitted for test.12. Specimen Preparation12.1 Tension test specimens shall be taken from materialafter final heat treatment and shall be
35、 selected in the longitu-dinal direction. The tension test specimens shall conform to theappropriate sections of Test Methods E8.13. Test Methods13.1 The chemical composition and mechanical propertiesof the material as enumerated in this specification shall, in caseof disagreement, be determined in

Rejection and Rehearing15.1 Material that fails to conform
39、to the requirements ofthis specification may be rejected. Rejection should be reportedto the producer or supplier promptly and in writing. In case ofdissatisfaction with the results of the test, the producer orsupplier may make claim for a rehearing.16. Certification16.1 If required by the purchaser
40、 in the contract or purchaseorder, a manufacturers certification that the material wasmanufactured and tested in accordance with this specificationshall be furnished at the time of shipment.16.2 If required by the purchaser in the contract or purchaseorder, a copy of the test results shall be furnis
41、hed at the time ofshipment.17. Packaging and Package Marking17.1 MarkingEach bundle or box shall be tagged properlywith metal tags showing heat number, grade, condition, speci-fication number, and size to assure proper identification.17.1.1 Large diameter bars may be line marked showingheat number,
