Manufacture3.1 Raw materials shall be of such quality and purity thatthe finished product will have the properties and characteristicsprescribed in this specification.3.2 The material shall be finished by such operations (coldworking, annealing, turning, grinding, or pickling) as arerequired

Chemical Composition4.1 Material produced under the specification shall meet therequirements of chemical composition prescribed in Table 1.4.2 By agreement between purchaser and manufacturer,analysis may be required and limits established for elements orcompou
8、nds not specified in the table of chemical composition.5. Mechanical Requirements5.1 The contract or order may specify ultimate tensilestrength, elongation, microhardness (Knoop or Vickers), hard-ness (Rockwell or Rockwell Superficial), or a combination ofthese mechanical properties as temper criter
9、ion. If the contractor order does not specify a temper criterion, then the criterionfor temper designation will be ultimate tensile strength andelongation. Table 2.5.2 Mechanical properties shall conform to the listings ofTable 3.5.3 All test specimens shall be full size when practical.5.4 All tests

Inspection and Testing7.1 Material furnished under this specification shall beinspected by the manufacturer as listed below:7.1.1 Visual inspection in accordance with 11.2.1 in Speci-fication B476.7.1.2 Temper test (hardness or tension, but not both). Atension test is recomm
16、ended for strip below 0.030 in. (0.8 mm)thickness and for wire of any diameter.
