Materials and Manufacture6.1 MaterialsThe material of manufacture shall be castbillets or slabs of one of the alloys cited in Section 1 of thisspecification. The cast material shall be of s

19、uch soundness andpurity as to be suitable for processing into the productsprescribed herein.6.2 Manufacture:6.2.1 The product shall be manufactured by such hot work-ing, cold working, and annealing processes as to produce auniform wrought structure in the finished product.6.2.2 The product shall be

20、hot or cold worked to the finishsize, and heat-treated when required, to meet the temperproperties specified.7. Chemical Composition7.1 The material shall conform to the chemical compositionrequirements in Table 1 for the copper alloy UNS No.designation specified in the ordering information.7.2 Thes

21、e composition limits do not preclude the presenceof other elements. By agreement between the manufacturer andpurchaser, limits may be established and analysis required forunnamed elements.7.3 For alloys in which copper is given as remainder, copperis the difference between the sum of all the element

22、s analyzedand 100 %. When all the elements in Table 1 are analyzed, thesum of results shall be 99.5 % minimum.8. Temper8.1 The standard tempers for products described in thisspecification are given in Table 2.8.1.1 Copper Alloy UNS No. C17410 Strip and Sheet isoffered in the TH02 (12 HT) and TH04 (H

Sampling13.1 SamplingThe lot size, portion size, and selection ofsamples p

34、ieces shall be as follows:13.1.1 Lot SizeAn inspection lot shall be 10 000 lbs. orless material of the same mill form, alloy, temper, and nominaldimensions, subject to inspection at one time or shall be theproduct of one cast bar from a single melt charge, whoseweight shall not exceed 25 000 lbs. th

Number of Tests and Retests14.1 The number of tests and retests shall be in accordancewith Section 8 of Specification B248.15. Specimen Preparation15.1 Chemical AnalysisSample preparation shall be inaccordance with Practic

37、e E255.15.2 Tensile TestsSample preparation shall be in accor-dance with Section 9 of Specification B248.15.3 Rockwell HardnessThe test specimens shall be of asize and shape to permit testing by the available test equipmentand shall be taken to permit testing in a plane parallel to thedirection of d

38、eformation given to the product.15.3.1 The surface of the test specimens shall be sufficientlysmooth and even to permit the accurate determination ofhardness.15.3.2 The specimen shall be free of scale and foreignmatter and care shall be taken to avoid any change in condition,that is, heating or cold

Test Methods16.1 The test methods for determining the mechanical andphysical properties are detailed in Specification B248.16.2 The test method for determining chemical analysis forcompliance and preparation to certifications and test reportsshall be at the discretion of the reporting l

40、aboratory.16.2.1 In case of dispute, the test method in the Annex ofSpecification B194 shall be used for determining chemicalrequirements in Table 1.16.3 When analysis for unnamed or residual elements isrequired in the purchase order, the method of analysis shall bemutually agreed upon between the m
