Terminology3.1 Terms shall be defined in accordance with

8、ck ingot, nlarge casting of zinc or zinc alloy,having lift pockets, designed for handling by mechanicalequipment, with a nominal weight of 2400 pounds, which isalso referred to as a block.3.2.3 half block ingot, nlarge casting of zinc or zinc alloy,having lift pockets, designed for handling by mecha

Ordering Information4.1 Orders for jumbo, block, or half block ingots under thisspecification shall include the following information:4.1.1 This specification number and date,4.1.2 Quantity (weight),4.1.3
10、 Name of material and grade, and4.1.4 Type of ingot (Jumbo, Type 1 Block, Type 2 Block,Half Block Type 1, or Half Block Type 2),4.1.5 Order may stipulate dimensions, or tolerances, orboth, not meeting this specification only upon mutual writtenagreement between purchaser and producer.5. Materials an
11、d Manufacture5.1 The producer shall use care to have each lot of zincmetal or zinc alloy jumbo, block or half block ingots be of asuniform quality as possible.6. Dimensions, Mass, and Permissible Variations6.1 Jumbo Ingots:6.1.1 Permissible variations in dimensions and tolerancesfor zinc or zinc all
12、oy jumbo ingots shall be within the limitsspecified in Table 1 and Fig. 1 unless prior written agreementexists between purchaser and producer for nonstandard dimen-sions and tolerances.6.1.2 Jumbo ingot weight shall be 2400 6100 lbs (1089 645 kg).6.2 Block Ingots:1This specification is under the jur

17、ing production and may be present atthe discretion of the producer.6.3 Block ingot weight shall be 2400 6 100 lbs (1089 6 45kg).6.4 Smaller “half height” half block ingots typically weigh-ing 1200 lbs (545 kg) are commonly used for casting andmaster alloy ingots.6.4.1 Permissible variations in dimen
18、sions and tolerancesfor zinc or zinc alloy half block ingot shall be within the limitsspecified in Table 3 and Figs. 2 and 3 unless prior writtenagreement exists between the purchaser and producer fornonstandard dimensions and tolerances.6.4.2 In addition to lift pockets in block ingots employed for
19、ingot handling, smaller lift pockets are sometimes located onthe ingot sides or ends and are employed to remove the ingotfrom the ingot mold during production and may be present atthe discretion of the producer.6.4.3 Half block ingot weight shall be 1200 6 50 lbs (5456 23 kg).7. Appearance7.1 Jumbo,
20、 block, or half block ingots, shall be reasonablyfree from dross, cracks, adhering foreign matter, undue surfaceoxide, and any “flash” that would interfere with handling anduse.8. Product Marking8.1 The producers name or a brand name by which theproducer can be identified shall be cast or stamped on
21、 eachjumbo ingot.8.2 Each jumbo, block or half block ingot shall be markedwith the producers heat, lot, or other identification mark.8.3 Additional product marking (color code, etc.) will not berequired unless agreed to by the purchaser and producer.9.
