1、Designation: B 939 05Standard Test Method forRadial Crushing Strength, K, of Powder Metallurgy (P/M)Bearings and Structural Materials1This standard is issued under the fixed designation B 939; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or, in the case of
2、revision, the year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This test method covers the equipment and laboratoryprocedure for the determination of the radi

This is adestructive test that produces quantitative results.1.2 Limitations:1.2.1 The principle of this procedure is based on thematerial being tested having minimal ductility
4、. The permanentdeflection of the cylinder during the test should not exceed10 % of the outside diameter.1.2.2 The radial crushing strength test results should be usedonly as a guide if the test specimen has a wall thickness that isgreater than one-third of the outside diameter. These test resultssho

The values given in parentheses are mathematicalconversions to SI units that are provided for information onlyand ar

Significance and Use5.1 The radial crushing strength test is a destructive proce-dure used to determine a material strength characteristic of P/Mbearings and hollow cylindrical test specimens. These data canbe used to grade, classify, and evalua
