Scope*1.1 This specification covers aluminum-alloy castings, pro-duced by the thixocast, rheocast, semi-solid and squeezecasting processes, shown in Table 1.1.2 This specification is not intended for castings used inaerospace applications.1.3 Alloy and temper designations are in accordance wit

4、hANSI H35.1/H35.1(M). The equivalent unified numberingsystem alloy designations are in accordance with PracticeE527.1.4 Unless the order specifies the “M” specification desig-nation, the material shall be furnished to the inch-pound units.1.5 For acceptance criteria for inclusion of new aluminumand

5、aluminum alloys and their properties in this specification,see Annex A1 and Annex A2.1.6 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound unitsare to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated ineach system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, eachsystem shall be used independently

6、of the other. Combiningvalues from the two systems may result in non-conformancewith the standard.1.7 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns, if any, associated with its use. Quality Assurance6.1 Responsibility for InspectionWhen specified in thecontract or purchase order, the producer or supplier is respon-sible for the performance of all inspection and test require

49、-ments specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in thecontract or order, the producer or supplier may use his own orany other suitable facilities for the performance of the inspec-tion and test requirements specified herein, unless disapprovedby the purchaser. The purchaser shall have the right to performany of the inspections and tests set forth in this specification.Quality assurance standards shall be agreed upon between theproducer or supplier and purchaser at the time a contract ororder is placed.6.2 Lot D
