C49250,C49260 and C49340 suitable for high-speed screw machine work, or for general applications.1.2 Typically, product made to this specification is furnished as straight lengths, or coils when requested.1.3 UnitsThe values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separat

4、ely as standard. The values statedin each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Materials and Manufacture6.1 Materials:6.1.1 The material of manufacture shall be a form of Copper Alloy UNS Nos. C49250, C49260 or C49340 of such purity andsoundness as to be suitable for processing into the pr

21、oducts prescribed herein.6.1.2 In the event heat identification or traceability is required, the purchaser shall specify the details desired.NOTE 1Due to the discontinuous nature of the processing of castings into wrought products, it is not always practical to identify a specific castinganalysis wi

22、th a specific quantity of finished material.6.2 Manufacture:6.2.1 The product shall be manufactured by such hot working, cold working, and annealing processes as to produce a uniformwrought structure in the finished product.6.2.2 The product shall be hot or cold worked to the finished size, and subs

23、equently annealed when required, to meet the temperproperties specified.7. Chemical Composition7.1 The material shall conform to the chemical composition requirements in Table 1 for the UNS Number specified in theordering information.7.2 These composition limits do not preclude the presence of other

24、 elements. Limits may be established and analysis requiredfor unnamed elements by agreement between the manufacturer and the purchaser.7.3 For alloys in which zinc is listed as “remainder”, zinc is the difference between the sum of results of all elements determinedand 100%. When all elements in Tab

25、le 1 are determined, the sum of the results shall be 99.5% min.8. Temper8.1 The standard tempers for products described in this specification are given in Table 2.8.1.1 Rod (round, hexagonal, and octagonal), and bar shall be furnished for general use in O60 temper for maximumformability, and H02 (ha

26、lf-hard) for applications involving moderate cold forming.B974/B974M 12a29. Mechanical Property Requirements9.1 The product shall conform to the tensile strength and elongation requirements of Tables 2 and 3 when tested in accordancewith Test Methods E8 and E8M.9.2 When specified in the contract or

27、purchase order, the yield strength shall be determined and conform with the yield strengthrequirements of Table 2 when tested in accordance with Test Methods E8 and E8M.10. Dimensions, Mass, and Permissible Variations10.1 The dimensions and tolerances for rod and material described by this specifica

Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance11.1 The product shall be free of defects, but blemishes of a nature that do not interfere with the intended application areacceptable.12. Sampling12.1 Refer to sampling section in Speci

37、fication B249/B249M for rod and bar, and Specification B250/B250M for wire.13. Number of Tests and Retests13.1 Test:13.1.1 Chemical AnalysisChemical composition shall be determined in accordance with the element mean of the results fromat least two replicate analyses of the sample(s).13.2 Retest:13.

38、2.1 When requested by the manufacturer or supplier, a retest shall be permitted when results of tests obtained by thepurchaser fail to conform to the requirements of the product specification.13.2.2 The retest shall be as directed in the product specification for the initial test, except the number

39、of test specimens shallbe twice that normally required for the specified test.13.2.3 All test specimens shall conform to the product specification requirement(s) in retest. Failure to conform shall be causefor rejection.14. Test Methods14.1 Chemical Analysis:14.1.1 In cases of disagreement, the reso

40、lution of the dispute shall be subject to agreement between the manufacturer or supplierand purchaser. Significance of Numbering Limits15.1 For the purpose of determining compliance with the specified limits for requirements of

Inspection16.1 The manufacturer, or supplier, shall inspect and make tests necessary to verify the furnished product conforms tospecification requirements.

49、16.2 Source inspection of the product by the purchaser may be agreed upon between the manufacturer, or supplier, and thepurchaser as part of the purchase order. In such case, the nature of the facilities needed to satisfy the inspector, representing thepurchaser, that the product is being furnished in accordance with the specification shall be included in the agreement. All testingand inspection shall be conducted so as not to interfere unnecessarily with the operation of the works.16.3 When mutually agreed upon, the manu
