、Designation: C 1244M 05ae1METRICStandard Test Method forConcrete Sewer Manholes by the Negative Air Pressure(Vacuum) Test Prior to Backfill Metric1This standard is issued under the fixed designation C 1244M; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or,
、in the case of revision, the year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.e1NOTETable 1 was reformatted and Section X1.3 was corrected editorially in February 2006.1.
、 Scope1.1 This test method covers procedures for testing precastconcrete manhole sections when using the vacuum test methodto demonstrate the integrity of the installed materials and theconstruction procedures. This test method is used for testingconcrete manhole sections utilizing mortar, mastic, o
、r gasketedjoints.1.2 This test method is intended to be used as a preliminarytest to enable the installer to demonstrate the condition of theconcrete manholes prior to backfill.1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety problems, if any, associated with its use. It is theresponsi
、bility of the user of this standard to establish appro-priate safety and health practices and determine the applica-bility of regulatory limitations prior to use.1.4 This test method is the companion to inch-pound TestMethod C 1244.NOTE 1Vacuum test criteria presented in this test method are similar
、to those in general use. The test and criteria have been widely andsuccessfully used in testing manholes.NOTE 2It should be understood that no correlation has been foundbetween vacuum (air) and hydrostatic tests.2.
