Classification4.1 Flat sheets covered by this specification are divided intotwo types, according to their intended application.4.1.1 Type ASheets are intended for exterior applicationsas a substrate for other cladding materials, or as an unfinishe

Composition and Manufacture5.1 CompositionThis specification is applicable to non-asbestos fiber-mat reinforced cementitious backer units co
20、n-sisting essentially of an inorganic hydraulic binder or a calciumsilicate binder formed by the chemical reaction of a siliceousmaterial and a calcareous material, reinforced by fiber-matmade of organic fibers, inorganic non-asbestos fibers, or both.NOTE 3Process aids, fillers, pigments, and other
21、fibers that arecompatible with the fiber-mat cement may be added.5.2 ManufactureThese products are formed either with orwithout pressure and cured, either under natural or acceleratedconditions, to meet the property requirements of this specifi-cation.6. Mechanical and Physical Properties6.1 Mechani
22、cal and physical properties shall be determinedon an uncoated product wherever practical. Where the productsare supplied coated, this material shall also be tested with theresults identified as applying to coated material.6.2 SamplingObtain five samples of the particular cementsubstrate sheet to be
23、tested from a commercial lot of not lessthan 50 000 ft2to conduct the tests described in this specifi-cation.6.3 Mechanical Properties:6.3.1 Flexural StrengthWhen tested in accordance withTest Method C 947, flexural strength shall be not less than 750psi (5170 kPa).6.3.2 Sheets shall be tested and s
24、pecified in both the wet andequilibrium conditions and shall meet the minimum wet andminimum equilibrium flexural strength requirements.NOTE 4When sampled from continuous production, these tests maybe conducted on dry, equilibrium, or saturated specimens, provided arelationship can be established be
25、tween this testing and the specifiedvalues.6.4 Physical Properties:6.4.1 DensityNominal values and tolerances for densityshall be stated by the manufacturer for each of the products.When tested in accordance with the test method specified inTest Methods C 1185, the value for the density shall comply
26、with the value stated by the manufacturer.6.4.2 Modulus of ElasticityValues for the modulus ofelasticity shall be stated by the manufacturer for each of theproducts. When tested in accordance with Test Method C 947,the value for modulus of elasticity shall comply with the valuestated by the manufact

Dimensions and Tolerances7.1 Method of MeasurementThe method of measurementshall be in accordance with Test Methods C 473.7.2 Nominal Length and WidthFiber-mat reinforced ce-mentitious b
29、acker units are typically supplied in nominallengths of 48 in. (1219 mm) to 96 in. (2438 mm) and nominalwidths of 32 in. (810 mm) to 48 in. (1219 mm). Lengths andwidths other than stated above are not prohibited from beingsupplied.7.3 Nominal ThicknessFiber-mat reinforced cementitiousbacker units ar
30、e typically supplied in nominal thicknesses of14in. (6 mm) to58 in. (16 mm). Thicknesses other than statedabove are not prohibited from being supplied.7.4 Length and Width ToleranceThe tolerance from thenominal value shall be 618 in. (3 mm).7.5 Thickness ToleranceThe maximum difference be-tween extr
31、eme values of the thickness measurement within asheet shall not exceed 0.03 in. (0.8 mm). Thickness variationfrom sheet to sheet shall not exceed 0.03 in. (0.8 mm).7.6 Squareness ToleranceThe length of the diagonalsshall not vary by more than132 in./ft (2.6 mm/m) of the lengthof the sheets. Opposite
32、 sides of the sheet shall not vary inlength by more than132 in./ft (2.6 mm/m).7.7 Edge Straightness ToleranceThe sheet edges shall bestraight within132 in./ft (2.6 mm/m) of length or width.8. Workmanship8.1 WorkmanshipSheets shall be free of defects that willimpair erection, use, or serviceability.9
33、. Inspection and Acceptance9.1 Inspection of material, if required, shall be at the pointof shipment. The inspector representing the purchaser shallhave authorized access to the carriers being loaded for ship-ment to the purchaser. The purchaser shall be afforded allreasonable and available faciliti
34、es at the point of shipment forC 1325 08b2sampling and inspection of the material, which shall beconducted so as not to interfere unnecessarily with the loadingof the carriers.9.2 Third party certification, either continuous or at regularintervals, shall be recognized as an alternative to lot inspec
35、tion.9.3 Failure to conform to any one of the requirements of thisspecification shall constitute grounds for nonacceptance.10. Product Marking10.1 IdentificationProduct marking shall include trade-mark, type of product (Aor B), or other means of identificationthat ensures that the manufacturer and p
36、roduct type can beidentified. The method of marking shall be stated in themanufacturers catalog.11. Packaging and Storage11.1 Commercial PackagingFlat sheets shall be packagedso as to prevent damage during shipment.11.2 StorageFlat sheets shall be stacked on supports thatwill keep the sheets level a
37、nd flat. The sheets shall be stackedwith the edges square and flush and covered to provideprotection from the weather until used.12. Supplementary TestsS1.1 Supplementary tests for fi
40、ber-mat reinforced cementi-tious backer units shall consist of once only supplementarytest, with the manufacturers statement of results providedupon customers request. Fundamental changes in formulationor methods of manufacture, or both, shall require the subse-quent retesting of the supplementary t
41、ests.S1.2 Supplementary tests shall be determined on uncoatedproduct wherever practical. Where fiber-mat reinforced cemen-titious backer units are supplied coated, this material shall alsobe tested with the results identified as applying to coatedmaterial.S1.3 The following supplementary tests shall

44、) in accordance with TestMethod C 1185.S1.3.2 Moisture MovementThe linear variation withchange in moisture content shall be stated as the percentagechange in length based on a relative humidity change from 30% to 90 % in accordance with Test Method D 1037. The linearvariation with change shall be le

Forthe purpose of this test, obtain 5 samples of the particularcement substrate sheet to be tested from a commercial lot ofnot less than 50 000 ft2.S1.3.3 Warm Water ResistanceThe specimens, whentested in accordance with Test Method C 1185, shall not showvisible cracks or
46、 structural alteration such as to affect theirperformance in use. The average flexural strength of thespecimens soaked in warm water shall be not less than 70 % ofthe 750 psi flexural strength requirement from 6.3.1, that is, theaverage warm water flexural strength shall be not less than 525psi.S1.3
47、.4 Surface Burning CharacteristicsWhen utilized asa finished substrate without decoration, fiber-mat reinforcedcementitious backer units shall have a reported flame spreadindex of 10 or less and a smoke developed index of not morethan 5 when tested in accordance with Test Method E84. Testsshall be c
48、onducted on samples that have been cured for 28 daysin a controlled atmosphere of 73 6 4F (23 6 2C) and 50 65 % relative humidity.S1.3.5 Shear Bond Strength (Dry-Set Portland CementMortar)Fiber-mat reinforced cementitious backer unitstested in accordance with ANSI A118.1 (fiber-mat reinforcedcementi
