1、Designation: C 1516 05Standard Practice forApplication of Direct-Applied Exterior Finish Systems1This standard is issued under the fixed designation C 1516; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last revision.

2、 A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope*1.1 This practice covers the minimum requirements andprocedures for field application of Direct-applied ExteriorFinish Systems (DEFS).

3、 Direct-applied exterior finish systemsare coating systems applied over various substrates withnon-metallic reinforcing mesh, in which the base coat rangesfrom not less than116 in. (1.6 mm) to332 in. (2.4 mm) in drythickness, depending on the mass of the reinforcing mesh. Thisbase coat is subsequent
