15、tallic Plaster Bases8.1 WorkmanshipNon metallic plaster base shall be in-stalled so the finished plaster surfaces are true to line, level,plumb, square, or curved as required to receive the specifiedplaster thickness.8.2 Application of Non Metallic Plaster Base:8.2.1 Non metallic plaster bases shall
16、 be attached to framingmembers at not more than 7 in. (178 mm) along framingmembers spaced not more than 16 in. (406 mm) on center.8.2.2 Non metallic plaster base shall be installed over solidbacking or sheathing sufficiently rigid to permit portlandcement plaster application.8.2.3 Non metallic plas
17、ter base shall be applied with thelong dimension at right angles to the supports unless approvedotherwise by the manufacturer and justified through compli-ance with the performance requirements set forth in Specifi-cation C1788.8.2.4 Ends of adjoining non metallic plaster bases shall bestaggered in
18、a running bond pattern with adjacent rows of nonmetallic plaster base.8.2.5 Non metallic plaster base shall not be continuousthrough control joints but shall be stopped and fastened at eachside.8.2.6 Non metallic plaster base shall only be installed tovertical surfaces.8.3 Attachment of Non Metallic
19、 Plaster Bases to WoodFraming:8.3.1 Non metallic plaster base shall be attached to framingmembers spaced not more than 16 in. (406 mm) on center withattachments spaced not more than 7 in. (178 mm) on centeralong supports.8.3.2 Non metallic plaster base shall be attached withmanufacturer recommended
20、fasteners. Staples shall be mini-mum 16 gauge with crowns not less than34 in. (19 mm),engage not less than two strands of non metallic plaster baseand penetrate the wood framing members not less than34 in.(19 mm).8.4 Attachment of Non Metallic Plaster Bases to MetalFraming:8.4.1 Non metallic plaster
21、 base shall be attached to framingmembers spaced not more than 16 in. (406 mm) on center withattachments spaced not more than 7 in. (178 mm) on centeralong supports.8.4.2 Non metallic plaster bases shall be attached withmanufacturers recommended fasteners. Specification C954screws or pneumatic pins
22、and corrosion resistant washers shallengage not less than two strands of the non metallic plasterbase and attach it to metal framing members. Screw fastenersshall extend through the steel connection a minimum of threeexposed threads. Pneumatic pins shall extend through the steelconnection in accorda
23、nce with the minimum depth recom-mended by the pin manufacturer.8.5 Attachment of Non Metallic Plaster Bases to Concreteor Concrete Masonry Units:8.5.1 Non metallic plaster base shall be attached to concreteor concrete masonry units with attachments spaced not morethan 7 in. (178 mm) on center in ro
24、ws not more than 16 in. (406mm) on center.8.5.2 Non metallic plaster bases shall be attached withmanufacturers recommended fasteners.
