3、and other finely dividedaggregate mineral filler (AMF) materials for use in concretemixtures. The specification defines the types of GCC and AMFmaterials for use in concrete.1.2 If concrete in service is subject to sulfate exposure,fillers derived from ground limestone should not be used unlessmitig

4、ation methods are used.NOTE 1American Concrete Institute (ACI) technical documents201.2R, 318, 332, and 350 contain useful information and code require-ments dealing with sulfate exposure in service. 18、scussionAMF derived from carbonate or non-carbonate quarried stone are finely divided particulate matterthat have been shown to be effective in improving the particlepacking and rheological characteristics of fresh concrete. Insome cases, enhancement is seen in mechanical and fluidtransport properti

19、es of hardened concrete. AMF for use inconcrete may undergo a series of processing steps such asscreening, grinding, classifying and drying as needed to meetrequirements of this specification.3.2.2 ground calcium carbonate (GCC), na finely dividedinorganic material consisting predominantly of calciu

Research has demonstratedthat the

21、 use of GCC results in improved packing density andthe GCC particles provide nucleation sites that increase the rateof hydration of hydraulic cementitious materials. The effect ofhydration is also influenced by the particle size distribution(PSD) and fineness of the GCC. See cited References (1-6).5

22、4. Classification4.1 Types A and B, which are derived from calciumcarbonates, are ground products from quarried stone. Thechemical and physical properties shall comply with the require-ments in Table 1.4.2 Type C is typically a byproduct from the crushing ofquarried stone, with mineral composition t

23、hat depend on thestone from which it is derived. The chemical and physicalproperties shall comply with the requirements of Table 1.4.3 The Type classification shall be stated by the supplier ofthe product.NOTE 3ACI CT-13 defines mineral filler as a finely divided mineralproduct at least 65% of which

24、 passes the 75-m (No. 200) sieve. Thisspecification establishes requirements for GCC and AMF materials thatmeet this definition.5. General Requirements5.1 The chemical and physical requirements for Type A,Type B, and Type C shall conform to the requirements in Table1.5.2 The purchaser has the author

25、ity to request measurementby a specified method of the chloride ion content of thematerial.6.
