3、essories, and fasteners, as compo-nents of interior and exterior portland cement-based plasterassemblies, used to facilitate lathing and furring installation(Specifications C1063, C1787), cement plaster application(Specification C926), and functionality of the completed stuccocladding assembly1.2 Th

Terminology3.1

11、 Definitions:3.1.1 Definitions shall be in accordance with SpecificationC1063.3.2 Definitions of Terms Specific to This Standard:3.2.1 capture flange, nthe narrow flange element of alathing accessory that projects from a ground and returns ontothe exterior stucco cladding surface to conceal the gap

12、betweenthe ground and stucco cladding.3.2.2 cement plaster panel area, nthe surface of a cementplaster area between lathing accessory grounds.3.2.3 drainage surface, nthe sloped or non-sloped, perfo-rated or non-perforated surface element of a lathing accessorythat facilitates a drainage function, b

20、langeand adjacent lath by cement plaster, and is used to attach thelathing accessory.3.2.9 movement gap, nthe element of an expansion jointlathing accessory that accommodates some degree of move-ment in the stucco cladding assembly caused by movement ofthe building, the substrate, or its components.

21、3.2.10 screed, nsynonymous with ground.3.2.11 solid attachment flange, nthe solid attachmentflange element of a lathing or furring accessory that provides ameans for accurate alignment, facilitates drainage where drain-age is required by integration of the solid attachment flangewith the water-resis

22、tive barrier, and which has no holes exceptfor optional fastener holes used to fasten the lathing accessory.3.3 Illustrations (Fig. 1) are intended to generically depictexamples of common lathing and furring accessory shapes andfasteners, by depicting their functional elements in relationshipto each

23、 other, without literally depicting specific manufacturedproducts. Variations of lathing and furring accessory shapesand fasteners illustrated shall be acceptable when the functionand performance is equivalent to or exceeds the illustratedaccessory or fastener.4. Materials and Manufacture4.1 General

24、:4.1.1 Lathing and furring accessories, and fasteners shall befree of deleterious amounts of rust, oil, or other foreign matterthat could cause bond failure or unsightly discoloration.4.1.2 Lathing and furring accessories shall include keyattachment flanges or solid attachment flanges. Solid attach-

25、ment flanges shall accommodate self-piercing fasteners with-out deforming the attachment flange or shall include optionalfastener holes used to fasten the lathing accessory.4.1.3 Lathing and furring accessories shall facilitate lathingand furring installation, cement plaster application, and func-ti

26、onality of the completed stucco cladding assembly. Lathingand furring accessories shall be configured to serve one ormore functions such as to assist in cement plaster thicknesscontrol, to reinforce cement plaster corners, to facilitatedrainage, to reduce cracking by accommodating movement, tosepara

27、te cement plaster from dissimilar materials, load bearingmembers and penetrating elements, and to provide an edge,end, or termination for a cement plaster panel area.4.1.4 Lathing accessories shall be configured to accommo-date application of the specified cement plaster thickness. Theground dimensi

28、on of lathing accessories shall be determined bythe specified thickness of the cement plaster with considerationof the installed configuration of the lathing accessory to the lath(lathing accessory located under or over the lath).4.1.5 Lathing accessories serving a drainage function shallinclude a d

29、rainage surface and a solid attachment flange.4.2 Materials:4.2.1 SteelSpecification A653/A653M, with a G60 coat-ing.4.2.2 Stainless SteelSpecification A240/A240M, Type304 or 316.4.2.3 Zinc AlloySpecification B69, 99 % pure zinc.4.2.4 Anodized Aluminum AlloySpecification B221.4.2.5 PVC and CPVC Plas

30、ticSpecification D1784 orD4216.4.2.6 Lathing accessories shall be corrosion resistant andfabricated from galvanized (zinc-coated) steel, stainless steel,rigid PVC or CPVC plastic, zinc alloy, or anodized aluminumalloy. Lathing accessory base material and minimum thicknessshall be as indicated in Tab

31、le 1.4.2.7 Fasteners shall be fabricated from steel or stainlesssteel and comply with Specifications C954, C1002, and F1667as applicable. Steel fasteners shall have a corrosion resistantplating or coating.4.2.8 Wire shall be corrosion resistant steel wire, annealed,Specification A641/A641M with a Cl

32、ass I galvanized coating,or stainless steel wire, annealed, Specification A580/A580M.4.2.9 Adhesive shall be a materials compatible, exterior,gun-grade, construction adhesive. Expandable foam adhesivesare prohibited.4.2.10 Clips shall be formed from galvanized steel wire,Specification A641/A641M or

33、steel sheet, Specification A653/A653M, depending on use and manufacturers requirements.4.2.11 Rod hanger and strap hanger shall be mild steel, andgalvanized, zinc electroplated, or protected with a rust-inhibiting paint.4.2.12 Cold-rolled channel furring shall be cold-formedsteel, 33 000 psi (228 MP

34、a) yield strength, 0.0538 in.(1.37 mm) bare steel thickness, with a galvanized G60 coating,Specification A653/A653M.4.3 Lathing Accessories to Facilitate Drainage:4.3.1 Weep ScreedLathing accessory located at the bottomof exterior framed or framed and sheathed walls; used as ascreed to assist in cem

35、ent plaster thickness control; to facilitatedrainage; and to provide an edge, end, or termination for acement plaster panel area. Weep screed shall include a solidvertical attachment flange 312 in. (89 mm) long minimum, anda drainage surface that is sloped and either perforated ornon-perforated, or

39、ngmembers and penetrating elements; and to provide an edge,end, or termination for a cement plaster panel area. Designateddrainage screed shall include a solid vertical attachment flangeand a drainage surface that is sloped and non-perforated, ornon-sloped and perforated with a capture flange, or no

40、n-slopedand non-perforated without a capture flange.4.3.3 Perforations, where provided on lathing accessorydrainage surfaces to facilitate drainage, shall be in. (6 mm)diameter minimum or an equivalent non-circular perforationarea, at 8 in. (200 mm) on center maximum.4.4 Lathing Accessories for Casi

41、ng:4.4.1 Casing BeadLathing accessory used as a screed toassist in cement plaster thickness control; to separate cementplaster from dissimilar materials, load bearing members andpenetrating elements; and to provide an edge, end, or termina-tion for a cement plaster panel area.4.4.2 Casing BeadSolid

42、flange, a casing bead with a solidattachment flange.4.4.3 Casing BeadKey flange, a casing bead with anattachment flange full of holes or of expanded sheet metal.4.5 Lathing Accessories to Reinforce Corners:4.5.1 Internal Corner ReinforcementLathing accessoryused to reinforce internal cement plaster

43、corners, with keyattachment flanges of not less than 2 in. (50 mm) length, bentto an interior angle between the flanges greater than 90.4.5.2 External Corner ReinforcementLathing accessoryused to reinforce external cement plaster corners; as a screed toassist in cement plaster thickness control; and

44、 to provide anedge, end, or termination for a cement plaster panel area, withkey attachment flanges of not less than 2-12 in. (63 mm) length,bent to an interior angle between the flanges less than 90.4.6 Lathing Accessories to Reduce Cracking:4.6.1 Expansion JointLathing accessory used as a screedto

45、 assist in cement plaster thickness control; to reduce crackingby accommodating movement of the stucco cladding assemblycaused by movement of the building or its components beyondcement plaster shrinkage and thermal variations; to separatecement plaster from dissimilar materials, load bearing mem-be

46、rs and penetrating elements; and to provide an edge, end, ortermination for a cement plaster panel area.An expansion jointlathing accessory shall be formed from two or more separatepieces with solid attachment flanges and a movement gap.4.6.2 Control JointLathing accessory used as a screed toassist

47、in cement plaster thickness control; to reduce cracking byaccommodating movement of the cement plaster claddingassembly caused by shrinkage and thermal variations, alongpredetermined, usually straight, lines; to separate cementplaster from dissimilar materials, load bearing members andpenetrating el

48、ements; and to provide an edge, end, or termina-tion for a cement plaster panel area. A control joint lathingaccessory shall be formed as a single prefabricated piece withkey attachment flanges and a flexible pleat, or assembled froma pair of casing beads installed back to back, with keyattachment f

49、langes and a flexible element functionally similarto the pleat, between them.4.7 Furring Accessories:4.7.1 Rod Hanger, Strap HangerFurring accessories usedto suspend and support cold-rolled channel furring. Rodhangers shall be permitted to be smooth or threaded. Straphangers shall be 1 in. wide by316-in. (25 by 5 mm) thick.4.7.2 Cold-rolled Channel FurringFurring accessory usedto suspend and support lath and lathing accessories. Cold-rolled channel furring shall be in the sizes and weightsindicated in Table 2, with flanges12 in. (13 mm)
