I think that the Internet is a tremendously new place to do business. Its the first new place where anybody can go to explore marketing. Its also

We can see it used very creatively as an advertising tool, as a marketing tool, as a communications tool. I think its really a fascinating new place for people to explore. Wed better grasp the chanc

18、e. Liming: Yes, you are right. The internet is giving business, especially small business owners a big opportunity and special advantage. Pal online business facilitates communication, collaboration, and the sharing of knowledge with: customers, employees, partners and suppliers. Sales on the Intern

19、et helps small business compete in the world market. The Internet market is a many-to-many channel, which provides many customers with information about many suppliers. This distinguishes it from extranets and similar arrangements which provide many of the same services but serve a single seller or

20、buyer. And with Internet you are not limited to state or national boundaries. The whole world is your customer base. It is really amazing. I bet people on the Web tend to order more. Liulifi: I think so. People on the Web tend to be adventurous anyway. People who might never have thought of ordering

21、 hot and spicy foods, because they see it on the Web, take the opportunity to do it. Its something thats never occurred to them, but its something totally new. Liming: And now it is up to us to come up with the way of dividing our products up, and arrange them in a logical pattern for customers to f

22、ollow. Otherwise customers may spend a long time searching, and never find out the information they needed. So we can divide them up in some logical ways. Liulili: Good idea. Wed better provide convenience and our wonderful service to our customers. Liming: Net market makes it easier for buyers to e

23、valuate sources, prices and delivery alternatives. Instant choice, easy comparisons, immediate fulfillment will help to shift the balance of power to the buyers. Interviewer: Do you have any suggestion to small businesses who are considering having a web presence? Liulili: To start a business on the

24、 Internet, there are lots of things that you need to think about. For example, if youre selling something, you have to remember that youre now a worldwide company. You will be shipping overseas. You will get order from overseas. Be prepared for that. Liming: And customers on the Net are much more li

25、kely to want to contact you than any sort of catalog business. Most catalog businesses have very little contact with their customers. Bu e-mail is easy. They can e-mail you questions Customers feel more comfortable doing it. So you have to be prepared to spend a fair amount of time responding to the

26、m. Interviewer: Do you think a website enables you to get more businesses? Liming: Yes, that really works for a very small shop. We can have our customers all over the world. With the website, we can get orders from all over the world. We have a guy from Germany who ordered for a friend in U. S. We

27、have a guy from England who sends gifts to his family in China. Thats something that small retail establishment could never do in any other way. Liulili: Business online gives small business a big advantage over the typical retail establishment. Now with the Internet, everything is done right from the comfort of the consumers home, without going to store, which avoids traffic jam and some troubles. They simply point and click.
