Scope*1.1 This specification pertains to blended hydraulic cementsfor b

3、oth general and special applications, using slag or poz-zolan, or both, with portland cement or portland cement clinkeror slag with lime.NOTE 1This specification prescribes ingredients and proportions,with some performance requirements whereas Performance SpecificationC 1157 is a hydraulic cement sp

4、ecification in which performance criteriaalone govern the products and their acceptance.1.2 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound unitsare to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated ineach system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, eachsystem shall be used independent

5、ly of the other. Combiningvalues from the two systems may result in non-conformancewith the standard. Terminology3.1 DefinitionsThe terms used in this specification aredefined in Terminology C 219, except for the following terms:3.1.1 binary blended cement, na blended hydraulic ce-ment consisting of portland cement with either a slag cement ora pozzolan.3.1.2 ternary blended cement, na b

17、lended hydraulic ce-ment consisting of portland cement with either a combinationof two different pozzolans, or slag cement and a pozzolan.4. Classification4.1 This specification applies to the following types ofblended cement that generally are intended for use as indicated.4.1.1 Blended hydraulic c

18、ements for general concrete con-struction.4.1.1.1 Type ISPortland blast-furnace slag cement.4.1.1.2 Type IPPortland-pozzolan cement.4.1.1.3 Type ITTernary blended cement.4.2 Reporting:4.2.1 The naming practice for blended cements shall bemade by adding the suffix (X) to the type designation under4.1

19、.1, where (X) equals the targeted percentage of slag orpozzolan in the product expressed as a whole number by massof the final blended product, within the allowable variation asstated in 14.3.4.2.2 The naming practice for ternary blended cements shallbe made by adding the suffixes (AX) and (BY) to t

20、he Type ITdesignation under 4.1.1, where:A is either “S” for slag cement, or “P” for pozzolan,whichever is present in larger amount by mass, andX is the targeted percentage by mass of constituent A, andB is either “S” for slag cement, or “P” for pozzolan, andY is the targeted percentage by mass of c

21、onstituent B.Both X and Y values are expressed as a whole number bymass of the final blended product, within the allowablevariation as stated in 14.3. If X and Y are the same, the orderis interchangeable.NOTE 2Examples of the naming practice per 4.2.1 and 4.3 are shownbelow (all percentages by mass)

22、:Binary blended cement with 80 % portland cement and 20 % slagcement = IS(20).Binary blended cement with 85 % portland cement and 15 % pozzolan= IP(15).Ternary blended cement with 70 % portland cement, 20 % slag cementand 10 % pozzolan = IT(S20)(P10).Ternary blended cement with 65 % portland cement,

23、 25 % of onepozzolan and 10 % of another pozzolan = IT(P25)(P10).4.2.3 A simplified naming practice is used in this standardfor practicality and clarity when referring to specific require-ments for binary and ternary blended cements that are appli-cable to a range of products or in ternary blended c

24、ementswhen requirements are applicable to only one constituentwithin a specific range (%). 27、han the specification limit, an additional amount of SO3ispermissible provided that, when the cement with the additional calcium sulfate is tested by Test Method C 265, the calcium sulfate in the hydrated mortar at 24 614 h,expressed as SO3, does not exceed 0.50 g/L. When the manufacturer supplies c

28、ement under this provision, he will, upon request, supply supporting data to the purchaser.C 595/C 595M 0925. 29、zolan % maximum orminimum, or both, if required.5.1.3 Optional special properties required (see 4.3):5.1.3.1 MS if moderate sulfate resistance is required;5.1.3.2 HS if high sulfate resistance is required;5.1.3.3 MH if moderate heat of hydration is required;5.1.3.4 LH if low heat of hydration is req

30、uired;5.1.3.5 A if air entraining is required;5.1.3.6 Accelerating addition, if required;5.1.3.7 Retarding addition, if required;5.1.3.8 Water reducing addition, if required;5.1.3.9 Water reducing and accelerating addition, if re-quired; and5.1.3.10 Water reducing and retarding addition, if required

31、.5.1.4 Certification, if desired (see Section 14).NOTE 6It is important to check for availability of various options.Some multiple options are mutually incompatible or unattainable.6. Materials and Manufacture6.1 Blast-Furnace SlagBlast-Furnace slag shall be thenonmetallic product, consisting essent

32、ially of silicates andaluminosilicates of calcium and other bases, that is developedin a molten condition simultaneously with iron in a blastfurnace.6.2 Granulated Blast-Furnace SlagGranulated blast-furnace slag shall be the glassy granular material formed whenmolten blast-furnace slag is rapidly ch

33、illed, as by immersion inwater.6.3 Slag CementSee Terminology C 219.6.4 Portland CementSee Terminology C 219. For pur-poses of this specification, portland cement meeting the re-quirements of Specification C 1157 or Specification C 150 aresuitable. Portland cement or other hydraulic materials, or bo

34、th,containing high free lime are not prohibited from use as long asthe autoclave test limits for the blended cement are met.6.5 Portland Cement ClinkerPortland cement clinkershall be partially fused clinker consisting primarily of hydrau-lic calcium silicates.6.6 PozzolanPozzolan shall be a siliceou

35、s or siliceous andaluminous material, which in itself possesses little or nocementitious value but which will, in finely divided form andin the presence of moisture, chemically react with calciumhydroxide at ordinary temperatures to form compounds pos-sessing cementitious properties.6.7 Hydrated Lim

36、eHydrated lime used as part of ablended cement shall meet the requirements of SpecificationC 821, except that when interground in the production processthere shall be no minimum fineness requirement.6.8 Air-Entraining AdditionWhen air-entraining cementis specified, an addition meeting the requiremen

37、ts of Specifi-cation C 226 shall be used.6.9 When processing additions are used in the manufactureof cement, they shall have been shown to meet the require-ments of Specification C 465 in the amounts used or greater,(see Section 14.2).6.10 When functional additions (used at the sole option ofthe pur

38、chaser) are used they shall have been shown to meet therequirements of Specification C 688 when tested with thecement to be used, in the amount used or greater, (see Section14.2).6.11 Other AdditionsThe cement covered by this specifi-cation shall contain no additions except as provided for aboveexce

39、pt that water or calcium sulfate (see Terminology C 219),or both, if added, shall be in amounts so that the limits shownin Table 1 for sulfate reported as SO3and loss on ignition arenot exceeded.6.12 Binary Blended CementBinary blended cement shallbe a hydraulic cement consisting of an intimate and

40、uniformblend (see Note 7) produced either by intergrinding portlandcement clinker with a pozzolan or a granulated blast-furnaceslag, or a slag cement, or by blending portland cement with apozzolan or a slag cement, or a combination of intergrindingand blending. The maximum constituent requirements o

41、f 6.14and 6.16 shall apply.6.13 Ternary Blended CementTernary blended cementshall be a hydraulic cement consisting of an intimate anduniform blend (see Note 7) produced either by intergrindingportland cement clinker with 1) two different pozzolans, 2)granulated blast-furnace slag or slag cement and

42、a pozzolan; orby blending portland cement with 1) two different pozzolans or2) slag cement and a pozzolan, or 3) a combination ofintergrinding and blending. The maximum constituent require-ments of 6.14 and 6.16 shall apply.6.14 Portland Blast-Furnace Slag CementPortland blast-furnace slag cement sh

43、all be a hydraulic cement in which theslag cement constituent is up to 95 % by mass of the blendedcement. Binary or ternary blended cement with a slag cementcontent equal to or exceeding 70 % by mass, is permitted tocontain hydrated lime.NOTE 7The attainment of an intimate and uniform blend of two o

44、rmore types of fine materials is difficult. Consequently, adequate equipmentand controls must be provided by the manufacturer. The purchasers shouldassure themselves of the adequacy of the blending operation.6.15 Air-Entraining Portland Blast-Furnace Slag CementAir-entraining portland blast-furnace

45、slag cement shall beportland blast-furnace slag cement to which sufficient air-entraining addition has been added so that the resulting productcomplies with the air content of mortar requirements.6.16 Portland-Pozzolan CementPortland-pozzolan ce-ment shall be a hydraulic cement in which the pozzolan

46、constituent is up to 40 % by mass of the blended cement.6.17 Air-Entraining Portland-Pozzolan CementAir-entraining portland-pozzolan cement shall be portland-pozzolan cement to which sufficient air-entraining addition hasbeen added so that the resulting product complies with the aircontent of mortar

Chemical Composition7.1 Cement of the type specified shall conform to theapplicable chemical requirements prescribed in Table 1.7.2 If the purchaser has requested the manufacturer to statein writing the composition of the blended cement purchased,the composition of t

Physical Properties8.1 Blended CementBlended cement of the type specifiedshall conform to the applicable physical requirements pre-scribed in Table 2.8.2 Pozzolan or SlagPozzolan or granulated blast-furnaceslag or slag cement that is to be blended with cement shall betested in the same state of subdivision as that in which it is tobe blended.
