Scope*1.1 This specification cov

7、t and Weather ResistantMaterials3.1 The jacket shall retain a minimum of 80 % of itsunexposed tensile strength and elongation after 720 h ofexposure in a dual carbon-arc apparatus or a Xenon arc lightapparatus. Prepare the specimens in accordance with TestMethods D 2633 for physical tests of insulat

8、ions and jackets.Do not buff the surface that is exposed to the light source.Perform the test in accordance with Practice D 2565 or PracticeD 6360, depending on which type of apparatus is used. UseCycle 1 in Table X1.1 of Practice G 153 or Cycle 1 inTable X3.1 of Practice G 155, depending on which t

9、ype ofapparatus is used.NOTE 1Previous versions of this specification referenced carbon-arcdevices described by Practice G23, which described very specificequipment designs. Practice G23has been withdrawn and replaced byPractice G 151, which describes performance criteria for all exposuredevices tha

10、t use laboratory light sources, and by Practice G 152 andPractice G 153, which give requirements for exposing nonmetallic mate-rials in filtered open flame carbon-arc devices and enclosed carbon-arcdevices, respectively.4. Physical Properties4.1 The jacket shall conform to the requirements for physi

11、-cal properties prescribed in Table 1.4.2 When used on single-conductor nonshielded cable rated2001 to 5000 V phase to phase, the jacket shall also conformto the requirements for surface resistivity and U-bend dis-charge in Table 2.5.
