、Designation: D1370/D1370M 12 (Reapproved 2016)Standard Test Method forContact Compatibility Between Asphaltic Materials (OliensisTest)1This standard is issued under the fixed designation D1370/D1370M; the number immediately following the designation indicates theyear of original adoption or, in the

、case of revision, the year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of lastreapproval. A superscript epsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This test method provides a means for evaluatingcontact compatibility between asphaltic

、materials. It is gener-ally used to determine compatibility between the saturant andcoating used in the manufacture of prepared roofings.2Coatingand saturant will be referred to, but comparable asphalticmaterials may be tested where this test procedure seemsapplicable.1.2 The values stated in either

、 SI units or inch-pound unitsare to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated ineach system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, eachsystem shall be used independently of the other. Combiningvalues from the two systems may result in non-conformancewith the standard.1.3 This standard

、gnificance and Use4.1 This test method assesses the degree to which asphaltsinteract with one another. It can indicate possible futureproblems, especially blistering, in a roofing product if incom-patible asphalts are in contact in the product.5. Apparatus5.1 Container, lid of 85-g 3-oz ointment box
