Classification4.1 Means for selecting and identifying rigid PVC andCPVC compounds are pr
、ovided in Table 1. The propertiesenumerated in Table 1 and the tests defined are expected toprovide identification of the compounds selected. They are notnecessarily suitable for direct application in design because ofdifferences in shape of part, size, loading, environmentalconditions, etc.4.2 Clas
、ses are designated by the cell number for eachproperty in the order in which they are listed in Table 1.NOTE 3The manner in which selected materials are identified by thisclassification system is illustrated by a Class 12454 rigid PVC compoundhaving the following requirements (see Table 1). The two-
、digit cell limits10 and 11 are rarely used, only for special high-temperature grades ofCPVC compound:NOTE 4The cell-type format provides the means for identification andclose characterization and specification of material properties, alone or incombination, for a broad range of materials. This type
、format, however, issubject to possible misapplication since unobtainable property combina-tions can be selected if the user is not familiar with commercially availablematerials. The manufacturer should be consulted.4.3 Product application chemical resistance when specifiedshall be classified in acco
