1、Designation: D2241 09An American National StandardStandard Specification forPoly(Vinyl Chloride) (PVC) Pressure-Rated Pipe (SDRSeries)1This standard is issued under the fixed designation D2241; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or, in the case of

2、 revision, the year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval. This standard has been approved for use by agencies of the Department of Defense.1. Scope*1.1 This specific

3、ation covers poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC)pipe made in standard thermoplastic pipe dimension ratios andpressure rated for water (see appendix). Included are criteriafor classifying PVC plastic pipe materials and PVC plasticpipe, a system of nomenclature for PVC plastic pipe, andrequirements and test me

4、thods for materials, workmanship, dimensions, sustained pressure, burst pressure, flattening, andextrusion quality. Methods of marking are also given.1.2 The products covered by this specification are intendedfor use with the distribution of pressurized liquids only, whichare chemically compatible wi

Due toinherent hazards associated with testing components and sys-tems with compressed air or other compressed gases, somemanufacturers do not allow pneumatic testing of their products.Consult with specific product/component manufacturers fortheir specific testing procedures

6、 prior to pneumatic testing.NOTE 1Pressurized (compressed) air or other compressed gasescontain large amounts of stored energy which present serious safetyhazards should a system fail for any reason.NOTE 2This standard specifies dimensional, performance and testrequirements for plumbing and fluid ha

A specific precautionary statement is givenin Note 7.NOTE 3CPVC plastic pipe (SDR-PR), which was formerly includedin this specification, is now covered by Specification F442/F442M.NOTE 4The sustained and burst pressure test requirements, and thepressure ratings in the appendix, are

11、 calculated from stress values obtainedfrom tests made on pipe 4 in. (100 mm) and smaller. However, testsconducted on pipe as large as 24 in. (600 mm) in diameter have shownthese stress values to be valid for larger diameter PVC pipe.NOTE 5PVC pipe made to this specification is often belled for use
