、Designation: D 580 04Standard Specification forGreige Woven Glass Tapes and Webbings1This standard is issued under the fixed designation D 580; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last revision. A number in
、parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This specification primarily covers greige tapes andwebbings woven from “E” electrical classification glass fiberyarns. This specification can a
、lso be applied to tapes andwebbings made of other glass fiber grades upon agreementbetween the purchaser and the supplier.1.2 This specification is intended to assist ultimate users bydesignating the types of these products that are typical in theindustry. This specification permits the application
、of organicmaterials to the glass fiber yarn during manufacture that helpsfacilitate weaving. When used as permitted in this specifica-tion, such materials will not interfere with the intended end userequirements.1.3 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound unitsare to be regarded separatel
、y as standard. The values stated ineach system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, eachsystem shall be used independently of the other. Combiningvalues from the two systems may result in nonconformancewith the standard.1.4 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns, if
、any, associated with its use. It is theresponsibility of the user of this standard to establish appro-priate safety and health practices and determine the applica-bility of regulatory limitations prior to use.2.
