10、r and the seller.3.5 Oil AbsorptionThe oil absorption shall be equal,within agreed upon tolerances, to that of a reference sampleagreed upon between the purchaser and the seller.3.6 ConsistencyWhen consistency is included in the pur-chasers specification, it shall be equal, within agreed upontoleran
11、ces, to that of a reference sample agreed upon betweenthe purchaser and the seller.3.7 FinenessThe paint fineness shall be equal, withinagreed upon tolerances, to that of a reference sample agreedupon between the purchaser and the seller.4. Sampling4.1 Two samples shall be taken at random from diffe
12、rentpackages from each lot, batch, days pack, or other unit ofproduction in a shipment. 18、o 8) into a pint can and thoroughly mix with aspatula. Weigh in 160 g of magnesium silicate and stir with aspatula to wet all lumps. Stir with a motor-driven propeller-type stirrer for 5 min at approximately 800 r/min. Weigh in anadditional 180 g of linseed oil and stir an additional 2 min withthe e
19、lectric stirrer. Determine the consistency in accordancewith Test Method D 562.5.1.5 FinenessTest Method D 1210.
