10、 seller.3.5 Oil AbsorptionThe oil absorption shall be equal,within agreed upon tolerances, to that of a reference sampleagreed upon between the purchaser and the seller.3.6 ConsistencyWhen consistency is included in the pur-chasers specification, it shall be equal, within agreed upontolerances, to t
11、hat of a reference sample agreed upon betweenthe purchaser and the seller.3.7 FinenessThe paint fineness shall be equal, withinagreed upon tolerances, to that of a reference sample agreedupon between the purchaser and the seller.4. Sampling4.1 Two samples shall be taken at random from differentpacka
12、ges from each lot, batch, days pack, or other unit ofproduction in a shipment. When no markings distinguishingbetween units of production appear, samples shall be takenfrom different packages in the ratio of two samples for each5000 kg (10 000 lb), except that for shipments of less than10 000 lb, tw

18、number, 4 to 8) into a pint can and thoroughly mix with aspatula. Weigh in 160 g of magnesium silicate and stir with aspatula to wet all lumps. Stir with a motor-driven propeller-type stirrer for 5 min at approximately 800 r/min. Weigh in anadditional 180 g of linseed oil and stir an additional 2 mi
19、n withthe electric stirrer. Determine the consistency in accordancewith Test Method D562.5.1.5 FinenessTest Method D1210.
