Materials and Manufacture6.1 The compound used in the manufacture of this heat-shrinkable tubing shall be based on chlorinated p
10、olyolefin asdefined in Section 3, Terminology. The finished compoundshall be free of foreign matter other than antioxidants, flameretardants, processing aids, crosslinking agents, pigments orother additives as appropriate.6.2 The tubing shall be extruded, crosslinked and thenexpanded to the required

Other Property Requirements8.1 The material shall conform to the mechanical, thermal,and electrical requirements of Table 3.8.2 Every lot of material manufactured shall be tested forheat shock, tensile strength, and el
16、ongation, but testing for allother requirements shall be conducted less frequently or at afrequency agreed upon by the purchaser and seller.9. Dimensional Requirements9.1 Both Type I and Type II tubing shall conform to thedimensional requirements of Tables 4 and 5.10. Workmanship10.1 Chlorinated pol
17、yolefin heat-shrinkable tubing shall behomogeneous and free from flaws and defects and from foreignmatter that have the potential to compromise its performance.11. Sampling11.1 A lot is defined as that material which is processed atthe same time and under essentially the same conditions inaccordance
18、 with this specification and submitted for inspectionat one time.11.2 Inspect a quantity of the end item selected at randomfrom each lot in accordance with Practice D3636 and Table 1.12. Tests and Retests12.1 If the results of any test do not conform to therequirements prescribed in this specificati
19、on, make two addi-tional tests on different specimens from the same lot.12.2 If the results of either of the two additional tests do notconform to the requirements, the purchaser is entitled to rejectthe lot of material. A notice of nonconformance of materialbased on tests made according to this spe
20、cification shall bereported to the manufacturer promptly and in writing.12.3 It is acceptable to replace or rework rejected tubing tocorrect the nonconformances and then resubmit for inspection.Before resubmitting, furnish to the inspector full particularsconcerning previous rejection and action tak
21、en to correct thenonconformances.13. Test Methods13.1 Use the test methods described in Test Methods D2671unless stated otherwise in Table 2 or Table 3.13.2 To recover heat-shrinkable tubing in this specification,use a time of 10 min and a temperature of 175 6 1C (347 62F).14. Inspection14.1 The man
22、ufacturer or purchaser, or both, shall haveavailable all the facilities to enable the complete testing to thisspecification.15. Certification15.1 When agreed upon in writing by the purchaser and aseller, a certification consists of the lot number and a copy ofthe manufacturers test report or a state
23、ment by the seller,accompanied by a copy of the test results, that the material wassampled, tested and inspected in accordance with the provi-sions of the specification. An authorized agent of the seller andmanufacturer shall sign each certification.15.2 When original identity cannot be established,
24、 certifi-cation can only be based on the sampling procedure as definedin Section 11.16. Packaging, Marking, and Shipping16.1 Supply the tubing on spools in lengths of 10 ft (3 m)minimum for all sizes unless otherwise specified.16.2 Package the tubing in conformance with standardcommercial practice u
25、nless otherwise specified. Box each sizeseparately.16.3 Distinctly identify each container of tubing by a tag orlabel.
