9、 in 15 min.5. Ordering Information5.1 When tubing is ordered to this specification, the pur-chaser should define the size, color, and type of the requiredtubing.6. Materials and Manufacture6.1 The polymers used in the manufacture of heat-shrinkable tubing shall be modified poly(vinyl chloride) andth

10、e finished compound shall be free of all foreign matter otherthan intended formulation additives as appropriate.6.2 The tubing shall be extruded, crosslinked (Type II only),and then expanded to the required dimensions.7. Chemical and Physical Property Requirements Chemicaland Physical Property Requi

11、rements7.1 The material shall conform to the chemical and physicalproperty requirements specified in Table 1.1This specification is under the jurisdiction of ASTM Committee D09 onElectrical and Electronic Insulating Materials and is the direct responsibility ofSubcommittee D09.07 on Flexible and Rig

15、material shall be tested for dimensionalrequirements, restricted shrinkage, tensile strength, elongation,longitudinal change, and dielectric breakdown. Other require-ments may be tested less frequently or at a frequency agreedupon between the supplier and the purchaser.8. Dimensional Requirements8.1

16、 Type I material shall conform to the applicable require-ments listed in Table 2 or Table 3.8.2 Type II material shall conform to the requirements listedin Table 3.8.3 Tubing with non-standard dimensions may be suppliedwhen agreed upon between purchaser and seller. Tubing withnon-standard dimensions

17、 shall be considered to comply withthis specification if the requirements of Table 1 and Table 2 aresatisfied and the minimum recovered wall thickness equals orexceeds that of the identical or next largest as supplied size.The wall for sizes greater than the largest specified size shall beat least a

18、s thick as that of the largest specified size.9. Workmanship9.1 The tubing shall be homogeneous and free of flaws,defects, pinholes, bubbles, seams, cracks, or inclusions thatmay detrimentally affect its suitability for the service intended.10. Sampling10.1 Alot shall consist of all material that is

Number of Tests and Retests11.1 The methods of test define the number of specimensand length required for each test.11.2 If the results of any test, except for attributes liste

31、d inTable 2 and Table 3, do not conform to the requirementsprescribed in this specification, perform two additional tests ondifferent specimens from the same lot. Nonconformance toTable 2 and Table 3 requirements on first inspection shall because for rejection.11.3 If either of the two additional te

32、sts results in anonconformance, the lot of material may be rejected at theoption of the purchaser. Notice of nonconformance based ontests made according to this specification shall be reported tothe manufacturer within 60 days from receipt of the material bythe purchaser.11.4 Tubing that has been re

33、jected may be replaced orreworked to correct the defects and resubmitted for inspection.Before resubmitting, full particulars concerning previous re-jection and action taken to correct the nonconformances shallbe furnished to the inspector.12. Test Methods12.1 The test methods described in Test Meth

34、ods D 2671shall be used unless otherwise stated in Table 1.12.2 To recover (shrink) heat-shrinkable tubing described inthis specification, the following shall be used:Type I15 min at 135 6 5 C (275 6 9 F)Type II15 min at 175 6 6 C (347 6 10 F)13. Inspection13.1 The manufacturer or the purchaser or b

35、oth shall haveavailable all the facilities to enable the complete testing to thisspecification.14. Certification14.1 When specified in the purchase order or contract, themanufacturers or suppliers certification shall be furnished tothe purchaser stating that samples representing each lot havebeen ma

36、nufactured, tested, and inspected in accordance withthis specification and the requirements have been met. Whenspecified in the purchase order or contract, a report of the testresults shall be furnished.15. Packaging, Marking, and Shipping15.1 The tubing shall be supplied in continuous rolls, or inl

37、engths as mutually agreed upon between the manufacturer andthe purchaser.15.2 The tubing shall be packaged in conformance withgood commercial practice unless otherwise specified. Indi-vidual sizes, types, lengths, and colors shall be bundled andspooled and properly identified, specifying size, type,

38、 quantity,color, and material.15.3 The bundles or spools shall then be placed in corru-gated boxes, and shall be taped in a manner that shall beaccepted by parcel post or common carrier.16.
