Scope*1.1 This practice outlines a method for classifying rein-forced plastic pultruded shapes according to their composition

3、.1.2 One objective of this practice is to provide a codificationmeans and descriptive limits for classification.1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is theresponsibility of the user of this standard to establish appro-priate saf

4、ety and health practices and determine the applica-bility of regulatory limitations prior to use.NOTE 1There is no known ISO equivalent to this standard.2. Terminology2.1 The definitions of reinforcement material, reinforcementtype, resin type, and filler amount and their respective levelsare descri

5、bed below.NOTE 2As an example, a pultruded shape made from a polyester resinmix with 13 % filler and glass roving reinforcement plus woven tape onthe surface comprising perhaps 4 % of the total would be designated as“GRPF”.2.2 Reinforcement Materials:2.2.1 GFiberglass constitutes 90 % or more by wei

6、ght oftotal reinforcement.2.2.2 CCarbon fibers constitute 90 % or more by weightof total reinforcement.2.2.3 OOther fibers constitute 90 % of reinforcement.2.2.4 SSpecial composition not covered above.2.3 Reinforcement Type:2.3.1 RRoving constitutes 90 % of total reinforcement.2.3.2 MContinuous Fila

7、ment Mat (CFM) constitutes90 % of total reinforcement.2.3.3 CCombinations of CFM, roving, stitched, or wovenreinforcements none of which constitutes 90 % of the totalreinforcements.2.3.4 WWoven fabric constitutes 90 % of total reinforce-ment.2.3.5 SStitched fabric constitutes 90 % of total reinforce

8、-ment.2.4 Resin Type:2.4.1 PPolyester.2.4.2 EEpoxy.2.4.3 VVinylester.2.4.4 FPhenolic2.4.5 UUrethane/Urethane Hybrid2.4.6 OOthers.2.5 Filler Amount:2.5.1 UFiller used is less than 5 % of resin weight.2.5.2 FFiller used is 5 % or more of the resin weight.3. Classification3.1 In classifying the reinfor

9、ced plastic pultruded shapeaccording to composition, four separate aspects of the compo-sition will be considered.3.2 The composition will be identified by the use of fourcapital letters. The sequential position of each letter will haveparticular significance in describing the composition. Inadditio

10、n, the letter itself will have further specific descriptivevalue.3.3 The classification method will be based upon the four-letter code in which each position of this code will have thefollowing significance:3.3.1 Reinforcement MaterialThe first letter in the com-position code will identify the reinf

11、orcement material utilized.3.3.2 Reinforcement TypeThe second letter in the codewill describe the type of reinforcement material employed.3.3.3 Resin TypeThe third position in the code willdescribe the type of resin employed.3.3.4 Filler AmountThe fourth and last position in thecode will define rela
