1、Designation: D 3787 07Standard Test Method forBursting Strength of TextilesConstant-Rate-of-Traverse(CRT) Ball Burst Test1This standard is issued under the fixed designation D 3787; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or, in the case of revision, t

2、he year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval. This standard has been approved for use by agencies of the Department of Defense.1. Scope1.1 This test method describe

3、s the measurement for burstingstrength with a ball burst strength tester of textiles or garmentsthat exhibit a high degree of ultimate elongation.1.2 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as thestandard.1.3 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound unitsare to be regarded separat

4、ely as the standard. Within the test, the inch-pound units are shown in parenthesis. The valuesstated in each system are not exact equivalents; therefore, eachsystem may be used independently of the other. Combiningvalues from the two systems may result in nonconformancewithin the specification.NOTE

5、1For the measurement of bursting strength with a hydraulictesting machine, refer to Test Method D 3786.1.4 This standard may involve hazardous materials, opera-tions and equipment. This standard does not purport to addressall of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It isthe responsi

Significance and Use5.1 This test method for the determination of ball burstingstrength of textiles is being used by the textile industry for theevaluation of a wide variety of fabrics.5.2 Test results obtained using the procedures in TestMethod D 3787 h

16、be-tween reported test results for two (or more) laboratories, comparative tests should be performed to determine if there isa statistical bias between them. The test samples used shouldbe: as homogeneous as possible, drawn from the material fromwhich the disparate test results were obtained, and ran

The test results from the two laboratories should becompared using a statistical test for unpaired data at aprobability level chosen prior to the testing series. I
