Standard Atmosphere3.1 Unless otherwise specified, conditioning and testing ofcoating materials known to be sensitive to variations intemperature or relative humidity shall be carried out in anatmosphere having a temperature of 23 6 2C (73.5 6 3.5F)and a relative humidi
6、ty of 50 6 10 %. If closer tolerances arerequired, 61C (62F) or even narrower limits, and 65%relative humidity may be specified.NOTE 2The positive and negative deviations from the specified setpoints are maximum allowed operational fluctuations during equilibriumconditions. If the operational fluctu
7、ations are beyond the stated tolerances,discontinue the conditioning or testing and correct the cause of thetolerance exceedance before continuing.3.2 The standard room or cabinet shall be well-ventilatedbut free of drafts, dust, products of combustion, and laboratoryfumes. Lighting conditions, unle
8、ss otherwise specified, shall bethat normally maintained in a room used for paint testpurposes.4. Standard Temperature4.1 Unless otherwise specified, the standard test tempera-ture shall be as specified in Section 3.5. Room Temperature5.1 A temperature in the range from 18 to 29.5C (65 to85F) shall
9、be called room temperature.6. Conditioning and Testing6.1 Unless otherwise specified in the test method, conditionthe organic coating materials or dried test films thereof and thetest equipment for not less than3hintheappropriateatmosphere and verify the temperature of the material beforeconducting
10、the test in the same atmosphere.6.2 For routine testing where close temperature control isnot critical, conduct all physical tests on organic coatingmaterials or dried test films thereof at the room temperature of18 to 29.5C (65 to 85F).6.3 For referee testing, unless otherwise specified in the test
11、method, conduct all physical tests on organic coating materialsor dried test films thereof in the standard atmosphere asspecified in Section 3.7.
