1、Designation: D4981 08 D4981 12Standard Test Method forScreening of Oxidizers in Waste1This standard is issued under the fixed designation D4981; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last revision. A number in
2、 parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This test method is intended for use prior to preparation of waste samples for organic analysis. Waste samples that haveoxidizing compounds may
3、react with certain reagents in the laboratory (for example, organic solvents).1.2 This test method is applicable to the analysis of waste liquids, sludges, and solids.1.3 This test method can neither identify specific oxidizing compounds nor measure concentrations. Since no acid or base isadded in t
4、his test method, potential oxidizers that require the presence of acid or base will not be detected by this test method.1.4 It is recommended that, prior to this test, waste samples be screened for water compatibility; see Test Methods D5058.1.5 This test method is designed and intended as a prelimi

This test method offers the ability to screen waste for potentiallyhazardous reactions due to oxidizer content when the more sophisticated techniques are not available or the

No other units of measurement are included in this standard.1.7 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibilityof the us

Significance and Use5.1 This test method is intended for use by those in waste management industries to avoid potentially harmful reactions due tooxidizing compounds in wastes.1 This test
