1、Designation: D 6004 04Standard Test Method forDetermining Adhesive Shear Strength of Carpet Adhesives1This standard is issued under the fixed designation D 6004; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last revi

2、sion. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This test method describes a procedure to measure shearstrength development for adhesives used to bond carpet adhe-sives to se

3、lected underlayments.1.2 This test method provides a quantitative means ofmeasuring and recording shear strength of the adhesive when itis applied to the desired underlayment.1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas the standard. The values given in parentheses are forinformati

Significance and Use4.1 In selecting or developing a carpet adhesive, it is criticalto have knowledge regarding how well the adhesive will bondto the desired underlayment. Shear loading simulates a com-mon failure mode.4.2
